Quote of the Day: Erick Erickson Sexism Edition

This is Erick Erickson's disgusting idea of a joke. In the past, Erickson has gone as far defending Todd Akin's "legitimate rape" comments.

In Erickson's worldview, a Congressman defending certain rape as "legitimate" is better than a law that makes it easier for people to acquire private health insurance. What a wonderful guy.

Quote of the Day

"I continue to oppose a third party. I’m just not sure what the Republican Party really stands for any more other than telling Obama no and telling our own corporate interests yes. That’s not much of a platform."

Erick Erickson, writing about the current state of Republican policy making.

Erickson was disappointed by the loss of Chris McDaniel’s loss. Erickson believes the GOP establishment's loyalty to lobbyists with shrink the Republican voting base. This is true. What Erickson will never understand is the tea party's racism and homophobia will drive young voters away. The Republican Party isn't going to change its most self-destructive tendencies until they lose more elections.

Wingnut of the Day: Erick Erickson

Via Amanda Marcotte: Erick Erickson thinks the imaginary liberal media wants to have nasty sex with President Barack Obama.

But now, you’d rather have cocktails (pun absolutely intended for a good portion of you “journalists”) with the President, jealously size up the competition in the First Lady, and wish you too could be a mistress when you see France’s President and whoever the gal of the week is for him.

This is the same Erick Erickson who discussed goat sex on Twitter.

It makes me cringe just to write about Erickson's tweets. Erickson has no problem talking about man and goat sex on social media. I have never blogged and thought to myself, "I need more goat fucking in my blog posts." What rationale person thinks like this. Erickson makes more sexual references in his post.

But you journalists have such erections for everything Barack Obama does, you can’t even summon outrage to report fairly on the latest b.s. from the administration over Obamacare. Is it any wonder so many people have stopped trusting you?

For a straight guy against gay marriage Erickson sure thinks about dick a lot.

Conservative blogger Erick Erickson's response to President Barack Obama calling for women to receive equal pay for equal work. Erickson is the conservative version of Courtney Love on Twitter. Both Erickson and Love are a danger to themselves on Twitter.

The Conservative Blogosphere's Idea of Journalism

Erick Erickson linked to this Ace of Spades blog post. The crew at Ace has been doing their usual muckraking journalism. The Ace crew believe that MSNBC is allowing Debbie Wasserman-Schultz to read her answers off of a teleprompter. Their evidence is Wasserman-Schultz mispronounced a word.

Wasserman Schultz said Rubio has zero credibility and that--and this is where it gets weird--Americans "were not misled." Except she said "mizled." It looked like she had her big conclusion written into the teleprompter and that "at the end of the day" was the signal she was starting to read it.

Here is the video Ace of Spades posted.

Wasserman-Schultz performed rather poorly during her MSNBC interview. However, what evidence does Ace of Spades have that Wasserman-Schultz used a teleprompter? Viewers cannot see what Wasserman-Schultz is looking at. I am no fan of Wasserman-Schultz and it pains me to defend her. It is just amazing conservatives obsess over stupid conspiracy theories in their head.

Unintentionally Greatest Erick Erickson Quote Ever

The Onion should hire Erick Erickson to write op-eds after the election. This is got to be the greatest quote since John Hinderaker raved about President Bush's "extraordinary vision and brilliance approaching to genius." The first two sentences of Erickson's post are awesome in its wingnuttery.

I believe Mitt Romney will win on election day. I'm somewhat stunned to be writing that as I never really thought he could win until about the moment Clint Eastwood trotted out on stage at the Republican National Convention with that empty chair.

Invisible Obama is what changed Erickson's view of Romney's chances of winning the presidency. That is utterly insane.

In defense of Erickson, he writes that people that are for Romney or Obama shouldn't get pessimistic if their candidate doesn't win. That is good advice.

Most Pointless Online Feud Ever

Poor Erick Erickson. (Well, not really.) It seems Erickson and is site is getting attacked by die hard supporters of Sarah Palin.

To not bow at the throne of Sarah you get disowned. You get attacked. You have people drum up stories attacking your credibility. “Oh, Perry announced at his event, he must be bought and paid for,” etc. Ironically, some of the very people going after this site’s and my credibility — claiming we’re pressured to do things by higher ups at Eagle Publishing — are people who were on payrolls advocating for clients while refusing to disclose potential conflicts among other things. To add comedy to irony, it seems more and more apparent that some of those who attacked this site and me for holding editorial positions based on what our corporate parent dictates (a lie designed to undermine our lack of sufficiently pro Palin bona fides among other things) are themselves engaging in projection because it is they, not RedState nor me, who must tread carefully in who they attack because their livelihoods depend on it. It’s always the kooks who project their sins on others.

Erickson once advocated that Palin should run. The fact that Erickson thinks that Palin is qualified to be president should forever be pointed out as a reason not to take him seriously. Another matter is Erickson and Palin online supporters are fighting over someone who has no intention of running. These people are hysterical.

Karen Diebel Running For Congress

Conservative blogger Sarah Rumpf writes that former Winter Park City Commissioner Karen Diebel (R) is running for Congress. Diebel is running for District 26 This is a new district that will be created. The only question is will the district be created before the Florida legislature's foot-dragging and legal challenges on redistricting from the Left and the Right.

Erick Erickson of Redstate.com is not a fan of Diebel. (Or maybe he is.) Erickson made a list of tax increases Diebel voted for as a commissioner. What Erickson actually list are fee increases.

* Voted for an increased fee schedule in 2007 that included a $15 fee to process a business certificate, a 2% increase in garbage service, 12% increase in storm water rates, and a 3.09% increase in water and sewer rates.
- Winter Park Commission Minutes, 9/24/2007

* Voted to allow an increase in taxicab fares.
- Winter Park Commission Minutes, 2/25/2008

* Voted for increased fee schedule in 2008.
- Winter Park Commission Minutes, 3/24/2008

* Voted for a fee schedule in 2008 that increased utility meter and recreation fees.
- Winter Park Commission Minutes, 3/24/2008

* Voted to allow a taxicab trip surcharge and an emergency fuel surcharge.
- Winter Park Commission Minutes, 8/25/2008

Diebel is a social conservative. She does not believe that the Obama executive order preventing federal dollars from funding abortion will work Diebel claims that federal dollars will find their way to fund abortions.

Q: Do you believe that it is possible (or even likely) that federal funds could be diverted to abortion providers via the Healthcare Reform Act?

Diebel: Yes. This is just one reason why it should be repealed and replaced with something else.

Q: Do you believe that the President's executive order was sufficient to address these concerns?

Diebel: The president's executive order does not preempt the provisions of the Healthcare Reform Act.

Mike Haridopolos' U.S. Senate Hopes Are Done

There is no way that Mike Haridopolos will become a United States Senator. Haridopolos was admonished by his own Florida Senate Rules Committee. The Commission of Ethics found Haridopolos failed to disclose property and mortgages on financial disclosure forms. The latest scandal is Haridopolos getting paid $152,000 to write "Florida Legislative History and Processes" for Brevard Community College.

Haridopolos was a political science instructor at BCC in 2003. Haridopolos was contracted by for BCC president Thomas Gamble to write a text book. Only one copy of the book has been printed. The book contains no footnotes. Current school officials say the deal is unusual. It isn't so unusual when you consider that Haridopolos placed $3.1 million in earmarks in the state budget for Brevard Community College. Former Florida House speakers Ray Sansom and Marco Rubio had ethically questionable jobs that appear to be obtained through their political positions. It is becoming a right of passage for Florida house speakers to get into an ethics scandal involving a school of higher learning.

What makes matters worse for Haridopolos is he has become a punchline for the New York Times and Redstate.com. Gail Collins mocks Haridopolos'

Other reviewers fixated on another insider tip: “A cellphone will be essential.” Although I am kind of partial to: “Most importantly, a candidate should avoid wasting money on useless novelty items such as wooden nickels.”

Or wooden prose.

RedState.com webmaster Erick Erickson promoted this post by Bloggy Bayou to the front page.

My advice to Florida Republicans: Do not elect this man. His book deal stinks, all he has done in his life is run for the next highest political office and he spends way too much time on combing his hair. Let’s face it: He belongs in the “Charlie Crist and John Edwards Hair Club For Men” school of politics.

Look for the Florida Republican establishment to beg Connie Mack to run. If not then Bill Nelson continues to be the luckiest Democratic senator. Many Democrats would give their right arm to have opponents as weak as Bill McCollum, Katherine Harris, and now possibly Haridopolos.

Quote of the Day 2

Erick Erickson Calls Obama 'Anti-American'

Erick Erickson contends President Barack Obama has an "anti_american" view of the United States. Erickson also claims that Democrats are falsely portraying Newt Gingrich's bizarre claim that Obama has a "Kenyan, anti-colonial" worldview wasn't racist. It was merely Democrats making a false controversy.

Here is Gingrich's quote.

"What if [Obama] is so outside our comprehension, that only if you understand Kenyan, anti-colonial behavior, can you begin to piece together [his actions]? That is the most accurate, predictive model for his behavior."

The statement itself makes absolutely no sense. Obama never knew his Kenyan father. Gingrich is also supporting white British rule over native black Kenyans. Erickson mocks sensible people by calling complaints about Gingrich's quote as nonsense. Erickson then calls Obama "anti-American."

Obama has been called a socialist, communist, Nazi, an illegal immigrant, and anti-American. Conservative can't decide what Obama is or isn't That isn't the point. Conservatives use scary code words to tell voters Obama is not one of them. Face it, Mitt Romney or Newt Gingrich isn't going to beat Obama on blinding charisma.

NRSC Won't Back O'Donnell

Erick Erickson tweeted this.

NRSC saying it won't help O'Donnell. Good thing for O'Donnell given the NRSC track record.

Good. That gives Chris Coons a better chance to win. O'Donnell will have a harder time matching Coons for campaign money. The latest report shows Coons with $944,230 cash on-hand. O'Donnell only has $20,374 on-hand. O'Donnell is going to have a hard time buying television ads in the Delaware Valley market with her limited funds.

Part of the reason the NRSC is not backing O'Donnell is because the Republican Party of Delaware has filed a lawsuit against her. The lawsuit contends O'Donnell went outside the GOP to collect campaign contributions from the Tea Party Express.

The complaint alleges that the O'Donnell campaign is "knowingly accepting illegal campaign contributions from the Tea Party Express PAC." It cites two "alarming" instances:

-- O'Donnell has knowingly accepted excessive contributions from the Tea Party Express that were directly solicited on behalf of the O'Donnell campaign, according to the filing.

-- O'Donnell has accepted illegal excessive contributions from the Tea Party Express by engaging in a statewide coordinated communications effort in support of her campaign. This means, according to the complaint, that every advertisement that is being run by the Tea Party Express in support of Ms. O'Donnell is a violation of Federal law.

Christine O'Donnell Against Spanking the Monkey

Delaware Tea Party darling Christine O'Donnell is anti-masturbation.

The Huffington Post reports that O'Donnell was on a Sex In The 90s special on MTV. (Remember those?) "The Bible says that lust in your heart is committing adultery. So you can't masturbate without lust," she said, adding. "The reason that you don't tell [people] that masturbation is the answer to AIDS and all these other problems that come with sex outside of marriage is because again it is not addressing the issue. You're just gonna create somebody who is, I was gonna say, toying with his sexuality. Pardon the pun."

There goes the videogamer vote.

In rated news: Redstate.com founder Erick Erickson is pulling support fro O'Donnell because of anti-gay against Republican opponent Mike Castle.

Subsequently, a number of the affiliated individuals went and worked directly for Christine O’Donnell’s campaign. A few weeks ago they left. Around that time I began hearing rumors the O’Donnell campaign was imploding.

The gang that left resurfaced at Liberty.com. The launch day spectacular at Liberty.com was to announce that Mike Castle is having a gay affair on his wife with no proof whatsoever.

When it was pointed out that all the people behind the accusation were O’Donnell campaign staffers, the response was “not any more.”

After a year of direct and indirect advocacy for Christine O’Donnell, it is pretty doggone hard to now stand apart and say “Nope, not campaign related.”

Baloney

I disagree with Erickson's statement that there is "no evidence" that Tea Party is filled with bigoted and dangerous people. You check check posts here, here, here, here, here, here and here. I am glad Erickson went after Team O'Donnell for the homophobic attacks on Castle.

The Chronicles of Erick Erickson

Erick Erickson is mad at Republican Sen. Olympia Snowe for voting for the Senate Finance Committee health care reform bill. Given the choice being a constructive activist or behaving like a clown, Erickson chose the latter.

Yes, Erickson is urging RedState.com readers to send rock salt to Maine. Winter is around the corner. Snowe won't have to worry about buying rock salt for her sidewalk and driveway. That should really teach her a lesson. Snowe lives in Maine. It snows there.

Erickson is under the impression Snowe once resided Narnia. I had to Google Narnia. I'm sorry, but I don'r speak geek.

Hat tip to John Cole.

Erick Erickson Quote Machine

Erick Erickson has a history of making extremist quotes. Erickson can not make a coherent argument. On Bloggingheads.tv, Erickson defended waterboarding as not torture by describing the interrogation procedure as torture.

"See, I actually don't think waterboarding is torture. I understand McCain's postion on that. I don't think it is. I don't think it puts their life in jeopardy when they're tortured."

Erickson wrote the Left is is working with terrorists to harm America.

We must not allow the left, working on behalf of our enemies, to lead Barack Obama down this most dangerous road. The best way to stop that is for the current President to deny any ability to prosecute American heros who have kept us safe for eight years.

Erickson isn't a patriot. He is an angry man with a laptop. Erickson wrote, "I’d be cleaning my gun right about now," because Spokane County, Washington banned phosphates from dishwasher detergent.

"At what point do the people tell the politicians to go to hell?" Erickson wrote. "At what point do they get off the couch, march down to their state legislator’s house, pull him outside, and beat him to a bloody pulp for being an idiot?"

At what point does Erickson seek help for his anger management issues. Erickson fired off his lates temper tantrum on Twitter.

"Linda Douglass really is the Joseph Goebbels of the White House Health Care shop:"

Linda Douglass is the communications director for the Office Office of Health Reform. Erickson sees nothing wrong with comparing Douglass to a the racist propanda of Goebbels. Erickson refered to President Obama's Nobel Peace Prize win as "an affirmative action quota." Erickson also defended the racist song "Barack the Magic Negro." The defense is it is not an attack on Barack Obama, but Al Sharpton. Nevermind the song is titled "Barack the Magic Negro", or that Sharpton is black. Ditto for Erickson's defense of Obama's image photoshopped as the Joker. Erickson couldn't give a rat's ass about racial tolerance. He would never have compared Douglass to Goebbels if he was racially sensitive. Erickson is a racist whom does not have the intelligence to make success policy arguments. So, Erickson resorts to demonizing his political enemies. Voters should know that Republicans (such as Marco Rubio) pander to this angry little man.

Obama Crushing Potential Republican Hopefuls

The latest Public Policy Polling reveals President Barack Obama crushes the most promising 2012 Republican challengers. Former Gov. Jeb Bush polls a point below Sarah Palin. Polls have a margin of error and Palin's unfavorability is higher than Bush's. Polling at Palin's level is still embarrassing. Bush has his work cut out for him, if he plans to run.

General Election Matchups:
Obama 53 - Palin 38
Obama 50 - J. Bush 37
Obama 48 - Huckabee 41
Obama 48 - Romney 39

Favorability Ratings:
Palin 37 / 55
Huckabee 38 / 36
J. Bush 22 / 45
Romney 33 / 38

The tea bagger movement is not big enough to make a serious dent into Obama's political strength. Tea baggers are angry but they do not have the discipline to register new Republican voters and articulate policy ideas to a mainstream audience. The movement is small and is beginning to alienate mainstream voters.

Marco Rubio has hitched his political prospects on the tea baggers and conservative bloggers. Unsurprisingly, his fundraising has sucked. Erick Erickson of RedState.com told The Hill he has not been able to raise money for Rubio and Chuck DeVore, Michael Williams and Pat Toomey.

No sense in being coy about it. We’re not meeting our goal. In fact, the fundraising for these four sucks.

I know cash is tight, but unless conservatives are willing to step up to the plate, we’re not going to get these guys elected and, frankly, the establishment of the Republican Party will keep ignoring us.

Let’s be honest. One of the reasons the left is so head over heels in love with the online left is because of the moonbat ability to turn on the cash. Even Ron Paul’s followers do better than conservatives.

Yes, yes, we can go to the polls in droves, etc., but cash is king in politics. And if we want to be taken seriously, we need to step up to the plate. I know that hacks some of you off. Every time I write stuff like this I get dozens of angry emails from people suffering due to Barack Obama’s economy. I get it. But you need to get it too — you want to change the Republican Party and have a seat at the table, you’ve got to launch a coup against the establishment. And the best way to do that at the present time is support these candidates who are running against the establishment.

Right now, we’ve got 15 days left and we’re no where close to meeting the $250,000.00 goal. If you can’t give, consider at least putting up the widget on your own site or asking other sites to host the widget too.

It is not the method of fundraising. It is the candidates and their message.

Erick Erickson's Bias

I love how conservative bloggers cry about liberal media bias. RedState.com webmaster Erick Erickson emailed Mark Sanford spokesman Joel Sawyer about doing a push back fluff piece.

If he wants something more personal for the blog to push back, I'm happy to help, but I'll get this up now. Obviously he's got more than the usual suspects trying to make hay out of this and we're big fans.

That is serious muchraking on Erickson's part. The "we're big fans" is a sure sign Erickson was planning to ask Sanford tough questions.

Seriously, next time Erickson cries about media bias - ignore him as you would someone crying wolf. Erickson hasn't earned the right to credibility.

Quote of the Day

"LMRM: The nation loses the only goat fucking child molester to ever serve on the Supreme Court in David Souter's retirement."

Erick Erickson, on the retirement of Supreme Court Justice David Souter.

This is the same Erickson that was ready to go into a gun-toting rage. What earned Erickson's rage was a ban on sales of dish washing detergent with heavy contents of phosphate in Spokane County, Washington. Erickson would rather a dangerous product be on the market than have a government recall.
