Quote of the Day

"Well, you know, to me I find it interesting that you have a lot of the Republicans running around and pushing back on the stimulus money and saying this doesn't create any new jobs, and then they go out and they do the photo ops and they are posing with the big check and they say, 'Isn't this great?'"

Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger

Contrary to what Mitt Romney said at CPAC, a September 2009 CBO report estimates"600,000 to 1.6 million people were employed" because of the stimulus package.

Rachel Maddow vs Glenn Beck

Rachel Maddow catches Glenn Beck denying that he ever said that snowstorms disprove global warming. Beck then ran an highly edited piece attacking Maddow. Beck omitted the clip from Maddow's show citing Beck quotes about snowstorms disproving global warming. Beck accused Maddow of being a propagandist and liar. The fact Beck can make that accusation of anyone takes serious chutzpah.

Side note: Yes, I know I haven't been blogging for awhile.

Dreck Girl

While taking a short break from writing my graphic novel, I decided to draw this cartoon that I've had kicking around in my head. The marketing of politics and politicians has been one of my recurring themes, and much to my delight, the wonderful Driftglass/Bluegal podcast took the marketing of Teabagger politics and Sarah Palin to its natural roots.

For those of you too young to remember, this cartoon is a mashup of a couple of shampoo TV commercials, Pantene and Breck.

Sarah Palin, John Bolton,Dick Nixon, John McCain, Bill O'Reilly, Karl Rove, Sam Alito, Pantene Shampoo, Breck Shampoo, Comix, comics, comixx, comic strips, editorial cartoons, cartoons, comic books, underground comix, satire, parody, Republicans, political cartoons, John Poindexter, Ollie North, G. Gordon Liddy, John Bolton, Ronald Reagan, Sarah Palin, Joe Lieberman, Zappadan, Frank Zappa, Richard Nixon, Bible Study, Bill O'Reilly, Zippy The Pinhead

Specter Jumps the Stage

Arlen Specter pulled a Kayne West and jumped onstage while Joe Sestak was speaking. Sestak was taking questions at the Pennsylvania Progressive forum. Both Specter and Sestak were given separate sessions. Apparently, Specter was anxious to inform Sestak that Beyonce was robbed of best video. Either that or Specter thought he was at a Green Day concert and wanted to stage dive.
