Mike Huckabee: Lightweight

Think Progress asked Mike Huckabee to cite an example of how gay marriage is negatively impacting Iowa. Huckabee couldn't cite a specific example. He just went into talking points mode.

“Iowans voted differently than the judges ruled, so you’ve got a conflict between the people and the judges,” he told ThinkProgress. “Ultimately, most states have made clear their position on it. The battle hasn’t been with the people. The battle has been with a handful of people in black robes.”

What is interesting is Republicans are no longer trying to make bogus science arguments. Conservatives used to trot out fake anti-gay experts like George "Rent Boy" Rekers. Now they dodge the prior bogus science on how homosexuality is a lifestyle choice. Ben Carson's comments on men deciding to become homosexual entering prison was so laughable that it was mocked by Glenn Beck.

Republicans have lost the public argument on gay marriage. Part of the reason is the GOP has politicians as dumb as Huckabee. How could Huckabee not see the question of the impact of gay marriage? Lightweight.

Clear Channel Backs Dubious Rubio

Patricia Mazzei reports that Clear Channel refused to accept billboard ad buy by Forecast the Facts. The environmental organization want to post this billboard on Marco Rubio's climate science position.

NO CLIMATE DENIERS IN THE WHITE HOUSE," the proposed ad from Forecast the Facts Action read, steering viewers to RubioIsNotReady.org.

The billboard would look something like this.

Brant Olson had this to say about Clear Channel's decision.

"Clear Channel is applying a partisan filter to the ads that it allows Miami residents to see, and tilting the scale in favor of its own partisan agenda," Brant Olson, Forecast's campaign director, said in an email. "Clear Channel is playing dirty politics."

Clear Channel has heavily supported the Republican Party. The company pulled songs by the Dixie Chicks after lead singer Natalie Maines made these famous anti-Bush remarks.

Tom Hicks, an executive at Clear Channel, helped stage pro war rallies in support of President George W. Bush. The idea for the rallies came from Glenn Beck. Hicks bought the Texas Rangers from Bush and his partners. Hicks donated $146,000 to Bush's gubernatorial campaigns.

Clear Channel's reason for rejecting the ad.

"All our contracts clearly state we reserve the right to final ad approval," spokesman Jason King said in an email. "And sometimes the original ad presented in discussions may only be a draft."

Clear Channel has a right to reject the act. I just wish they would upfront about being pro-Republican.

Conservative Talk Radio Wants Cochran To Lose

Sean Hannity would rather lose a Republican Senate seat than have Thad Cochran get re-elected. Conservative talk radio continues its self-destructive tendencies.

“If I was in Mississippi I would not and could not in good conscience vote for Thad Cochran after the way this campaign was run,” he said. “And I know many of you are gonna say, ‘but Hannity, that means we put the seat at risk for a Democrat.’”

“Well what is Thad Cochran?” he asked. “He ran as a Democrat. He ran as somebody who hates the Tea Party. He ran as somebody who hates conservatives.”

Hannity went on to claim that the Cochran campaign used "despicable" tactics in courting black Democratic voters. What Hannity conveniently forgets to tell his audience is that it was an open primary. Cochran could not go to the Right of tea party darling Chris McDaniel. Cochran is not the bleeding heat liberal Hannity described in his radio segment. Cochran needed to expand his voting base. Cochran campaigned in black neighborhoods and bought ads in black newspapers. Cochran's goal was to make black people scared of Chris McDaniel. Mission Accomplished.

A side effect of the McDaniel loss is that the tea party crowd is really pissed off. These people are professional sore losers. Rush Limbaugh called black Democratic voters "Uncle Toms For Thad." Limbaugh loves to use offensive racist code words. What is funny is Limbaugh admits that Cochran has never done anything for black voters in Mississippi. News flash to Rush: black people of Mississippi are aware of that. Black voters viewed the primary as the best chance to keep Chris McDaniel out of the Senate.

In his anger, Glenn Beck told the truth about Cochran's previous lack of interest in his black constituents.

BECK: I have a question for every black Democrat in Mississippi: What the hell has this 90-year-old fart -- a white Republican, the same white Republican that for years the Democrats have been telling you are nothing but old racists -- you tell me exactly what Thad Cochran did for you.

For the curious: here are some civil rights votes by Cochran.

Voted YES on ending special funding for minority & women-owned business.

Voted NO on setting aside 10% of highway funds for minorities & women.

Voted NO on expanding hate crimes to include sexual orientation.

Rated 0% by the ACLU, indicating an anti-civil rights voting record.

Cochran may have not even seen a black voter until the last two week. McDaniel is still scarier to black voters. McDaniel retweeted a post by a white supremacist. McDaniel gave a speech to the Sons of Confederate Veteran. The group is a Neo-Confederate and pro-secessionist movement. These crazy people want to split from the United States. This isn't a mystery why black voters turned out for Cochran.

WWE is giving Beck the opportunity to address our 14 million weekly viewers and our global fan base, as he believes we are offending our "conservative" fans with this storyline.

Similar to other television shows and feature films, WWE is in the entertainment business, creating fictional characters that serve as protagonists or antagonists. To create compelling and relevant content for our audience, it is important to incorporate current events into our storylines. WWE is creating a rivalry centered on a topical subject that has varying points of view. Sen. Jim DeMint called in to Glenn Beck's radio program today to discuss his decision to resign from the Senate to become the president of the Heritage Foundation. DeMint explained that, with the re-election of President Obama, conservatives were not going to be able "to do anything positive at the federal level for the next four years" so he needed to be somewhere outside of government, working on solutions for when Obama's policies inevitably bring America "to its knees" ... and that will entail partnering with people like Beck to get the message out; a prospect that Beck was very eager to embrace:

DeMint is kissing Beck's ass. Beck is enjoying getting his ass kissed. Republican politicians like DeMint view conservative media as their true constituency. What a sad world we live in when a U.S. Senator feels the need to treat Glenn Beck as someone of great stature.

Andrew Breitbart Freak Out at Occupy Protesters

Andrew Breitbart is famous for having bizarre public temper tantrums. In Wisconson, Breitbart told union members to "go to hell," repeatedly. Repeating insults is Breitbart's stock-in-trade.

Breitbart had a freakout against progressive protesters at a Right Nation conference. The people were protesting at hateful rhetoric against Glenn Beck. Breitbart claims that the protesters were being paid and that Beck never said a hateful thing. It must have slipped Breitbart's mind when Beck said that President Barack Obama "has a deep-seated hatred of white people."



The funny thing is Breitbart is engaged in a full-on feud with Beck. The reason is after it was proven that the Shirley Sherrod video a doctored, Beck tore into Breitbart on his radio and Fox News show. Breitbart refuses to take responsibility for running a video that falsely claimed that Sherrod is a racist.

Breitbart had an epic melt down at Occupy protesters at the CPAC conference. Breitbart started yelling and falsely accused the Occupy protesters of being rapists and murders. Anyone who would falsely accuse a group of people of rape and murder has no grounds to call anyone else a hate monger. Breitbart's insane tirade is indicative of his journalism style. Breitbart projects his own failing on his political enemies.

Ablow's column reads like an op-ed from The Onion. That is what haapens when a news organization is writing propaganda for a political party. If Ablow framed his argument that Gingrich's personal life should be viewed seperate from his private life, that would be a valid argument to make. Instead, Ablow claims Gingrich's infidility makes him more qualified to be president. I would never make that argument in Bill Clinton's defense because it would be assinine.

Beck proclaim that (another) apocalypse will transpire if the two-state solution happens. Anyone who follows Israel politics knows we are probably further from a two-state solution.

Beck says if you don't attend his rally "the gates of hell will open." Now that Beck has lost his Fox News platform this rally is not going to get huge numbers. I wonder if Beck's followers ever ever gonna start asking their leader why his doom and gloom predictions never transpire.

Beck is reaching for the end of days Christian Right flock. Beck rants about Israel, the apocalypse and armageddon. I am wondering when Beck will pull an Oral Roberts and proclaim that God will take his life if money doesn't get sent to his coffers.

Bachmann introduced legislation barring the Chinese yen from becoming U.S. currency. The IMF was moving towards greater reliance on the yen because of a weak dollar. Bachmann failed to understand that International Monetary Fund uses currency from several countries and does not print U.S. currency. That is the job of the Treasury Department.

Bachmann has no basic understanding about financial policy. Beck wouldn't take a job in the federal government because he would have to give up his media earnings. Beck would also panic after a day. Beck couldn't handle being interviewed by the panel on The View. I don't see Beck handling the pressure of running the Federal Reserve or Treasury Department.

Can Beck give names who who will be pulling the trigger and committing murder? If Beck really is psychic and can see into the future, doesn't he have a civic responsibility to prevent murder?

Beck will get called out on his latest conspiracy theory and will use the defense that he is just an entertainer. Beck has been honest about why he makes bizarre statements.

With a deadpan, Beck insists that he is not political: "I could give a flying crap about the political process." Making money, on the other hand, is to be taken very seriously, and controversy is its own coinage. "We're an entertainment company," Beck says.

Beck told the New York Times that he is a "rodeo clown."

He added later: “I say on the air all time, ‘if you take what I say as gospel, you’re an idiot.’ ”

Beck made his career as a Morning Zoo shock jock. Beck plays with puppets on his Fox News show. Off-the-record Fox News employees told Howard Kurtz that Beck practices crying in rehearsals for his show. Beck is the professional wrestling version of broadcast journalism. Beck lets people know it is an act. People still hang on every banal utterance preached by Beck.

Beck is actually worse than right-wing pundits like Sean Hannity who makes no attempt to hide his love of the Republican Party. Beck uses his inflammatory rhetoric to full-fill his greed and desperate need for attention. Beck is the Paris Hilton of Fox News.
