Rupert Murdoch Accuses Obama of Racism

News Corp owner Rupert Murdoch backed Glenn Beck's claim that President Barack Obama is a racist. Mudoch gave an incoherent defense of Beck. Murdoch went further by claiming Obama made a racist statement about "blacks and whites." Murdoch doesn't bother to cite Obama's allegedly racist statement. That might be because the statement doesn't exist.

Rupert Murdoch: "On the racist thing, that caused a [unintelligible], but [Obama] did make a very racist comment about blacks and whites and so on, which he said in his campaign he would be completely above. And that was something which perhaps shouldn't have been said about the President, but if you actually assess what he was talking about, [Beck] was right."

Mudoch also denies that Fox News on-air talent has compared Obama to Joseph Stalin.

Rupert Murdoch: "No, no, not Stalin, I don't think. I don't know who they -- not one of our people."

I am not comparing -- and I doubt you are, too -- I'm not comparing what's currently going on in our administration or in Washington on either side with these guys, but I see echoes of the past that frighten me."

What is hysterical is Murdoch and Beck have the audacity to call anyone racist. Fox News has spent this decade bashing Muslims, Hispanics and gays. Bill O'Reilly speaked in racist terms towards Michelle Obama.

"I don't want to go on a lynching party against Michelle Obama unless there's evidence, hard facts, that say this is how the woman really feels. If that's how she really feels -- that America is a bad country or a flawed nation, whatever -- then that's legit. We'll track it down."

Fox News went balistic over Sotomayor's "wise Latina" quote. Sotomayor made the remark during her speech at the "Raising the Bar: Latino and Latina Presence in the Judiciary and the Struggle for Representationtic on Sonia Sotomayor's "Wise Latina." Fox News is somehow shocked Sotomayor would bring up her Latina heritage to a group of Latina lawyers. Fox News has publicly supported the Minutemen Project. Minutemen organizer James Gilchrist admitted the group has white supremists in their ranks. Fox News isn't concerned about combatting racism. The network panders to racists for ratings.

Someone must have informed Murdoch that his statement was laughable. Murdoch is doing the dance of shame and backing down.

But News Corp. spokesperson Gary Ginsberg tells POLITICO that Murdoch did not intend to suggest that he had the same opinion as Beck.

“He does not at all, for a minute, think the president is a racist,” Ginsberg said.

My response is bullshit. Murdoch clearly intended to accuse Obama of racism. Murdoch just didn't have the spine to deal with the political fallout.

It is amazing how racists are accusing the racism against Sotomayor.

Tancredo has a history of hostility towards the Hispanic community. The Hispanic television network Univision held a presidential debate. Unsurprisingly, Tancredo boycotted the event. This was a candidate whom needed the exposure. Tancredo sent out this press release.

Tancredo released this statement: “It is the law that to become a naturalized citizen of this country you must have knowledge and understanding of English, including a basic ability to read, write, and speak the language,” Tancredo said. “So what may I ask are our presidential candidates doing participating in a Spanish speaking debate? Pandering comes to mind...America has been a melting pot of people from all over the world but it can not survive as a nation if our immigrants do not assimilate. A common language is essential to that goal. Bilingualism is a great asset for any individual but it has perilous consequences for a nation. As such, a Spanish debate has no place in a presidential campaign.”

The Spanish language poses "perilous consequences" for the United States? What a crock of shit. That might explain why he called Miami a third world country.

"Look at what has happened to Miami. It has become a Third World country. You just pick it up and take it and move it someplace. You would never know you're in the United States of America. You would certainly say you're in a Third World country," Tancredo said.

The anti-immigration the Minutemen has white supremists in their ranks. Minutemen leader Chris Simcox and Tancredo are longtime political allies. Listen to Tancredo on Minutemen radio. (It is a hate fest.)

Ask yourself if Tancredo has earned the right to call anyone a racist?

Adam Putnam's Minutemen Problem

It is time the media ask Adam Putnam is getting cozy with Minutemen president Chris Simcox. The Minutemen rank and file is filled with white supremists.

The Intelligence Report said the recent e-mail contact is not the first evidence to emerge of the overlapping of Minuteman and neo-Nazi membership. A few members of the National Alliance and Aryan Nations signed up with the original Minuteman Project in April 2005, and at least two frequent contributors to the white supremacist Web site stormfront.org volunteered for Minuteman co-founder Jim Gilchrist's failed congressional campaign.

Putnam is another Republican using Nixon's Southern strategy to garner votes.

A journalist should ask Putnam why he is cordial to an organization with ties to hate groups. Putnam should be pounded with the question repeatly until he passes the laugh test. If Putnam is a racist or political pandering he should say so. Putnam can not say he respects Hispanics while aligning himself whith white supremists.

Putnam is too shortsighted to understand that his immigration posturing is a liability. John Boehner and Putnam have taken a hardline stance on immigration and their only accomplishment was having Hispanics lean for Democratic Congressional candidates in 2006. Alienating the largest growing ethic voting group when the GOP is polling poorly is stupidity. Boehner and Putnam are the the House GOP leadership. Why these men aren't backbenchers after the 2006 election is beyond me.

The NYU College Republicans felt the Confederate and Nazi flags wasn't sending out a strong enough message. They then invited Minutemen co-founder Chris Simcox to debate.

Simcox used to keep company with Laine Lawless of the Border Guardians.

Lawless, an original member of Chris Simcox's vigilante militia before it became the Minuteman Project in early 2005, detailed 11 suggestions for ways to harass and terrorize undocumented immigrants, including robbery and ''beating up illegals'' as they leave their work place, the report states. Martin, following Lawless' suggestions, posted her e-mail to a number of neo-Nazi bulletin boards.

Lawless suggested stealing money from any undocumented worker walking into a bank or check-cashing location. "Make every illegal alien feel the heat of being a person without status ... I hear the rednecks in the South are beating up illegals as the textile mills have closed. Use your imagination,'' Lawless wrote.

Lawless also said, ''Discourage Spanish-speaking children from going to school. Be creative.'' She also encouraged threatening migrants with being shot. ''Create an anonymous propaganda campaign warning that any further illegal immigrants will be shot, maimed or seriously messed-up upon crossing the border. This should be fairly easy to do, considering the hysteria of the Spanish language press, and how they view the Minutemen as 'racists and vigilantes.''
