America's Dumbest Congressman is Re-Elected

Unsurprising but more depressing news. Louie Gohmert is re-elected to the House of Representatives. I wonder what the people of the 1st congressional district of Texas are smoking.

Quote of the Day

"I've had people say, 'Hey, you know, there's nothing wrong with gays in the military. Look at the Greeks.' Well, you know, they did have people come along who they loved that was the same sex and would give them massages before they went into battle. But you know what, it's a different kind of fighting, it's a different kind of war and if you're sitting around getting massages all day ready to go into the big, planned battle, then you're not going to last very long. It's guerrilla fighting. You are going to be ultimately vulnerable to terrorism."

Louie Gohmert

Apparently, Gohmert believes that U.S. troops in places like Afghanistan weren't be trying to stop terrorists from killing them because they will be too busy getting massages. I wonder if Gohmert did his military research from watching lots of gay porn. I am really starting to wonder about this guy.

Louie Gohmert Is Too Crazy For Government

Rep. Louie Gohmert is batshit crazy. Gohmert is advocating for starting war with Iran. Gohmert's reason is the Israeli invasion of Gaza.

“It is time to bomb Iran’s nuclear capabilities,” Gohmert concluded. “It is time for the United States, if we are not going to stop Iran’s nukes, then let Israel do it. A friend will not put another friend in this kind of jeopardy.”

Gohmert is conflating the Gaza conflict with Iran's nuclear program. Raw Story reports that Iran is complying with the International Atomic Energy Agency agreement.

As agreed under a so-called Joint Plan of Action reached in November, the Islamic Republic has cut half of its stock of 20-percent enriched uranium down to five-percent purity.

The rest was being converted into uranium oxide.

Tehran also refrained from enriching above the five-percent level at any of its nuclear facilities, the IAEA report said.

Gohmert has no idea about the current state of Iran's nuclear program. Yet, Gohmert is advocating for war with Iran. People look at Gohmert as a clown and mock him. I find the man's stupidity to be scary and dangerous.

Louie Gohmert Compares Sex Education to the Soviet Union

Via Right Wing Watch: Rep. Louie Gohmert is a parody of an elected official. Gohmert is against public schools teaching sex education. I find that interesting since Gohmert has openly discussed the sexual practices of animals. Gohmert spoke on Wall Builders Live with hosts David Barton and Rick Green. Gohmert compared sex education to the Soviet Union.

Let the kids be innocent. Let them dream. Let them play. Let them enjoy their life. You don't have to force this sexuality stuff into their life at such a point. It was never intended to be that way. They'll find out soon enough. And, in fact, ... mankind has existed for a pretty long time without anyone ever having to give a sex-ed lesson to anybody. And now we feel like, oh gosh, people are too stupid to unless we force them to sit and listen to instructions. It's just incredible.

And there is a natural law that parents should be involved in education, they should know about, they should be part of the training - that's a law of nature; Alan Keyes was just talking about it this weekend when we were together. That is such an important part of nature and yet that is the very thing that some of these liberals want to take away.

And it reminds me so much of the summer that I was an exchange student in the Soviet Union back in the Seventies and I was shocked when they were saying 'no, the children don't belong to parents, they belong to the state.' And if any parent said anything in front of their children negative about the wonderful Soviet Union, then we will take their children away and give them to somebody more deserving. And I just thought how horribly shocking that was, that of course parents were the ones who love the children, not the state. And I thought thank God that we don't have that in our country.

And now I've seen this coming with a lady from MSNBC saying "hey, children belong to the state" ... and it just sent chills because it took me back to the Seventies when that's what the Soviet Union used to say and we know how well that worked out.

I find it funny that Gohmert cites Alan Keyes as a source of wisdom. Keyes has denounced his gay daughter and public mocked by other Republican candidates in a 2007 Iowa presidential debate. Wall Builders Live co-host David Barton has been publicly busted for making up false quotes attributed to the Founding Fathers. Barton was also an instructor for Glenn Beck's online school. Gohmert tends to associate himself with Christian Right fundamentalists. This is the real reason he doesn't want sex education in schools.

Louie Gohmert's Epic Fail on House Judiciary Committee

The most hysterical moment of the House Judiciary Committee was Attorney General making a fool out of Rep. Louie Gohmert. Mind you, making a fool out of Gohmert is not hard. Gohmert made statements about what the FBI didn't to to stop the Boston bombing. Holder pointed out to Gohmert that Gohmert has no way of knowing what the FBI did since Gohmert didn't see the FBI files. Gohmert then backtracks and claims he didn't say any of the things he just said. Chairman Bob Goodlatte tries desperately to get Gohmert to shut up. Gohmert just keeps digging a deeper hole for himself.

Start watching the video at the 3:30 mark. Hilarity ensues.

The Pettiness of Louie Gohmert

Huffington Post report Sabrina Siddiqui asked Rep. Louie Gohmert about the Justice Department wiretapping of Associated Press.

"I'm not a big fan of the AP, and I can tell from their writing they're not a big fan of me."

Translation: Gohmert doesn't care about the intrusive wiretapping into the reporters of the AP. Gohmert won't defend the freedom of the press because he has a personal basis against AP. What a petty man.

Louie Gohmert Thinks About Animal Sex A Lot

Rep. Louie Gohmert makes the bizarre argument that gun control is like bestiality. Unsurprisingly, Gohmert found a welcoming format with this line of reasoning with Tea Party Unity.

In fact, I had this discussion with some wonderful, caring Democrats earlier this week on the issue of, well, they said "surely you could agree to limit the number of rounds in a magazine, could you? How is that problematic?"

There is no clear place to draw the line once you eliminate the traditional marriage and it's the same once you start putting limits on what guns can be used, then it's just really easy to have laws that make them all illegal.

And I pointed out, well, once you make it ten, then why would you draw the line at ten? What's wrong with nine? Or eleven? And the problem is once you draw that limit ; it's kind of like marriage when you say it's not a man or woman, or four women and one man, or why not somebody has a love for an aminal.

If you wonder why legislation doesn't get passed in Congress, Republicans like Gohmert are the answer. Imagine Democrats trying to be bipartisan on gun control. Gohmert tells Democrats he can't support gun control because it will make bestiality legal. This is the insanity that makes the Republican Party.

Gohmert is a lawmaker that isn't aware. State legislatures have made polygamy illegal in all fifty states. Gohmert may look into Texas law. There is currently no law forbidding man and animal sex. However, any public sex act is against Texas law.

Gohmert seems really interested in animal love. Gohmert supported the the Alaskan oil pipeline as a way for caribou to have more sex. From the Washington Post:

Here's his theory: The caribou very much enjoy the warmth the pipeline radiates. "So when they want to go on a date, they invite each other to head over to the pipeline." he informed his colleagues. It's apparently the equivalent of being wined and dined. And that has resulted in a tenfold caribou population boom, he concluded.

"So my concern now ...if oil stops running through the pipeline...do we need a study to see how adversely the caribou would be affected if the warm oil ever quit flowing?" he asked.

Louie Gohmert spends far too much time thinking about animals having sex.

Quote of the Day

"[The Second Amendment] is for our protection and the founders’ quotes make that very very clear and including against a government that would run amuck. We’ve got some people who think Sharia Law should be the law of the land, forget the Constitution. But the guns are there… to make sure all of the rest of the Amendments are followed."

Rep. Louie Gohmert.

Sadly, I actually believe Gohmert is dense enough to believe Sharia law is taking over the land. House Republicans were wondering what Gohmert was smoking when he nominated Newt Gingrich to be the Speaker of the 113th Congress. Never mind that Gingrich hasn't served in the House of Representatives since 1999.

Louie Gohmert Channels Robert Byrd

Rep. Louie Gohmert claims repealing "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" threatens the existence of America. Never mind that Israel allows gays to openly serve in the military. I doubt Gohmert would tell pro-Israeli conservatives that Israel's existence is about to end. The general consensus is Israel has a formidable military.

GOHMERT: To my friend who said that history would judge us poorly, I would submit if you would look thoroughly at history -- and I'm not saying it's cause and effect -- but when militaries throughout history of the greatest nations in the world have adopted the policy that "fine for homosexuality to be overt" -- you can keep it private and control your hormones fine, if you can't, that's fine too -- they're toward the end of their existence as a great nation.

Gohmert is making the same argument that the late Sen. Robert Byrd made to President Bill Clinton about ending the ban of gays in the military. Byrd gave a rambling spiel to Clinton about Tiberius and Caesar and the fall of the Roman empire. George (Stephanopoulos documented Byrd's exchange with Clinton in his book "All Too Human.") Byrd is also a well known bigot and former member of the Klu Klux Klan.

Gohmert might want to use a more orignail talking point.
