Quote of the Day

"I think Sullivan is right, but not for the right reason. I do believe that Barack Obama is in fact our first gay president. But I believe this for entirely different reasons. I believe the man actually is gay."

Dean Chamber, failed pollster.

Dean Chambers Admits He Was Wrong

President Barack Obama was elected to a second term. Dean Chambers predicted a Mitt Romney victory. In an interview with Bussiness Insider, Chambers admits he prediction was wrong.

"Nate Silver was right, and I was wrong," Chambers said in a phone interview.

Chambers note believes their was more Democratic momentum.

"I think it was much more in the Democratic direction than most people predicted," Chambers said. "But those assumptions — my assumptions — were wrong."

What happened was that the Obama campaign's ground game was excellent. In many parts of the country the Obama campaign surpassed their 2008 turnout. If Team Romney actually took their ground game seriously Mitt Romney would be the president-elect. Instead, Romney dragged his party down ob ballots across the country. Mitt Romney was the best thing to ever happen to Barack Obama. Romney is the worst Republican candidate since Bob Dole.

Chambers takes Scott Rasmussen's polling to task.

"He has lost a lot of credibility, as far as I'm concerned," Chambers said. "He did a lot of surveys. A lot of those surveys were wrong." "He has lost a lot of credibility, as far as I'm concerned," Chambers said. "He did a lot of surveys. A lot of those surveys were wrong."

Rasmussen's credibility was shot long before last night.

Side note: I will give Chambers credit for admitting he was wrong. We aren't about to see a confession from Dick Morris anytime soon.

Dean Chambers Predicts Romney Wins 301 Electoral Votes

Remember this after election day. On October 28th, Unskewed Polls tells us that Mitt Romney leads President Barack Obama in 9 out of 11 swing states. Dean Chambers only has Obama leading in Michigan and Pennsylvania. In the real world, Romney is getting killed in the swing states. The TPM poll tracker averages out the major polls. The TPM numbers have Obama leading in ten swing states. Romney leads in Florida by 0.5 and North Carolina by 1.9.

Chambers calls the election for Romney. That is unsurprising for someone who accuses pollsters of having a liberal bias. That might explain why Chambers called Ohio for Romney. The Obama campaign is openly bragging about how they have Ohio in the bag. Anyone who calls Ohio for Romney shouldn't talk about other (real) pollsters being bias.
