Sid Dinerstein: Douchebag of the Day

This is the most mind-numbingly stupid quotes I have read recently. Sid Dinerstein, the chairman of the Palm Beach County Republican Party accuses the county's Democrats of being racists for supporting Charlie Crist over Kendrick Meek.

"This is racial politics at its ugliest," GOP chairman Sid Dinerstein said "The white Democrats, the ones who supported Hillary over Obama are teaming up with Charlie to throw Kendrick under the bus so they can say more nasty things about Hispanic Americans."

What does Hispanics have to do with support of Crist or Meek. The Republican Party has been running an xenophobic campaign against providing Hispanics a pathway to citizenship. If Diderstein feels that strongly about Meek being the victim of racism then I challenge him to make a pledge to work with Meek to guarantee the civil rights of Hispanics and African Americans. This would be a good thing and a true sign of bipartisanship. Otherwise, Diderstein is just deploying the Southern strategy in an apeal to conservative white voters. Former Republican Party of Florida chairman Jim Greer admitted his attack against President Barack Obama's speech to school children was an appeal to racist voters.

"In the year since I issued a prepared statement regarding President Obama speaking to the nation's children, I have learned a great deal about the party I so deeply loved and served. Unfortunately, I found that many within the GOP have racist views and I apologize to the President for my opposition to his speech last year and my efforts to placate the extremists who dominate our Party today."

If the Republican establishment is so concerned with racism they can stop disinfranchising black voters, condemn racist Tea Party signs and get serious about immigration reform. The current GOP has Rand Paul telling voters that the government has no roll in enforcing civil rights. These people have no credibility on civil rights issues.

Kendrick Meek Zombie Watch: Democrats Flee the Real Dem

So much for the meme that Florida Democrats are united behind Kendrick Meek. In a true profile of courage: the Real Dem ducked a meeting with Palm Beach Democrats.

Crist met privately Monday with a group of influential Palm Beach County Democratic clubs, who in turn formally called on Meek to quit the race. The request was suppose to come in a meeting with Palm Beach County Commissioner Burt Aaronson today, but Meek canceled after learning of the agenda.

"We waited this long to see what's happened with Kendrick Meek's fundraising and polling and so forth. I'm 99.8 percent certain it's hopeless for Meek," said Jay Weitz, chairman of the People's Choice PAC, which is made up largely of Democratic clubs representing thousands of voters.

When Kendrick Meek has to avoid members of his own party it means it is over. Meek has campaigned longer than Marco Rubio or Charlie Crist and still has less name-recognition and fundraising dollars. There have been student council races run with better professionalism and maturity. I have heard stories about Adam Sharon being hot-headed. We can see that the pressure of the campaign is getting to him. Sharon unleashed this hysterical and fact free temper tamtrum to political reporter Alex Leary.

"Charlie Crist can't win. He has no pathway. He wants to talk about coalition but this coalition never was and never will be," said Sharon, insisting that the Democratic nominee is the only one who can overwhelmingly win Democratic votes. "Charlie Crist lost to Marco Rubio once, and he wants to lose to him again, and that's the path we're on right now."

I'm going to do some Quinnell-style parsing of words and remind people that Crist announced his NPA candidacy before the Republican Senate primary. Crist did not run in the primary against Rubio or in any previous races. Therefore Sharon is factually incorrect in stating that Crist has lost to Rubio before. I also would like to know if Sharon called Crist to confirm if he wants to lose to Rubio.

SHARON: Charlie, the St. Petersburg Times is interviewing me. I need to know if you want to lose to Marco Rubio.

CRIST: Yes Adam. I wake up every morning and pray to God that I will lose to Marco. It has been a life long dream of mine.

SHARON: Great. I'll use that in the interview.

CRIST: Feel free to tell the media I want to lose to Marco.

SHARON: I will. Bye.

CRIST: Bye.

Sharon is also wrong about Crist not having a path to beat Rubio. A recent Public Policy Polling poll found Crist and Rubio would be tied at 46 perecent if Meek dropped out. Meek would be 7 points behind if Crist dropped out. The best chance to stop Rubio from entering the U.S. Senate is if Meek drops out. Meek is a zombie candidate who can not win. The Palm Beach County incident is another example that the party never was really that behind Meek.

Florida Democrats Punish Mary Landrieu

Florida Democrats are punishing Sen. Mary Landrieu for not supporting the public option. The Palm Beach County Democratic Party has decided not to have Landrieu as the keynote speaker for the keynote speaker for the Truman-Kennedy-Johnson dinner.

“We just didn’t want to have a keynote speaker who’s not committed to cloture. It would have just been wrong,” said Siegel, who said party higher-ups and rank-and-file members had voiced displeasure with the choice of Landrieu as a keynoter.

Landrieu has hinted that she would support a Republican filibuster of the health care bill. I 100 percent agree with Palm Beach County Democratic Party for uninviting Landrieu as keynote speaker. No new keynote speaker has been chosen.

Side note: The Palm Beach Post couldn't reach Landrieu's office for comment. I can believe not reaching Landrieu but the entire office. Translation: no one in Landrieu's camp want to comment on being dissed by Palm Beach Democrats for not supporting health care reform.

Make Your Own Rush Billboard

The Democratic National Committee is asking for suggestions for a Rush Limbaugh billboard. The billboard will be placed in Limbaugh's hometown of West Palm Beach, Florida. The billboard is receiving national attention. Limbaugh "wanted to see evidence" that the billboard will not use tax dollars. The dittoheads will eat that up. The DNC is paying for the billboards through contributions.

Senator Joe Biden recently campaigned in Palm Beach County. Biden was interviewed by 5th grader Damon Weaver.

Ann Coulter Gets Hate Mail

Palm Beach County resident Ann Coulter received an exception from publicly listed her home address. Coulter received a nasty greeting card.

``You self-aggrandizing -- sociopath!! The only thing left after a nuclear war are you and cockroaches.''

The Miami Herald article points out Coulter's history of saying nasy things about other people. I expect Coulter to practice hypocrisy and not being able to take it as well as she dishes it out. It's not cool to send mean-spirited letters and phone messages to people. Even if that person is Ann Coulter.

The moral of the story is Coulter's vicious attacks on public figures has unleashed a backlash. Which in turn as raised the ire of people whom have nothing better to do than bother Ann Coulter. Haters attract haters. All parties involve could volunteer in their community. But that doesn't feed haters innner-stupid person.
