Why You Should Not Vote For Marco Rubio

The Family Research Council has endorsed Marco Rubio. If you back a woman's right over her own body then you do not want to vote for Marco Rubio.

Rep. Rubio has fought to protect mothers and their unborn children. He supported pro-life legislation that would require doctors to complete ultrasounds before performing abortions thus giving the mother an opportunity to assess the consequences of her actions.

If you support science and stem cell research then you do not want to vote for Marco Rubio.

Rep. Rubio also understands the importance of adult stem cell research in treating patients. He also endorsed legislation to ensure that taxpayers aren’t forced to fund embryonic stem cell research.

Translation: Rubio will not support embryonic stem cell research. The scientific data is embryonic stem cells are more likely regenerate tissue. embryonic stem cells be be manipulated into other cells. Scientists can trace what causes diseases.

Rubio bills himself as a Reagan conservative. Former First Lady Nancy Reagan supports embryonic stem cell research. There is room in science for both embryonic and adult stem cell research. The conservative ideological disdain for science will not allow both.

If you support the civil rights of gay and lesbian people than you do not want to vote for Marco Rubio.

“Rep. Rubio’s many years of advocacy on behalf of pro-family causes will serve him well in the Senate. FRC Action PAC believes that Marco Rubio will be a true advocate for the issues that best uphold and strengthen families. We are proud to support his candidacy,” concluded (Tony)Perkins.

Tony Perkins blamed the LGBT community are the behavior of Congressman Mark Foley. Perkins labeled the LGBT community as posing "one of the greatest public health risks in America."

Apparently, our nation is never too broke to advance a radical social agenda. The agency released a statement on the Center last week, saying its purpose would be to "help community-based organizations understand the unique needs... of older LGBT individuals and assist them in implementing programs for local service providers..." In the release, HHS regurgitates the Left's propaganda to justify the waste, claiming that "1.5 to 4 million" LGBTs are age 60 and older. In reality, HHS has no idea how many LGBT seniors exist. No one does! The movement is only a few decades old, and people who are 80- or 90-years-old didn't grow up in a culture where it was acceptable to identify with this lifestyle.

Rubio placed Perkins' endorsement on his campaign web site. Rubio's idea of building a big tent is getting an endorsement from a man whom does not want gays to run as Republicans. Rubio is seeking the support of tea baggers and the Christian Right. It is easy to see why the son of Cuban immigrants now supports making English the national language.

When asked about ``English-only'' legislation at the Republican women's club meeting, Rubio declared: ``I believe English is the unifying language of America.'' The sweeping statement glossed over Rubio's previously stated opposition to proposals in Congress that could outlaw ballots and government documents in Spanish.

Not providing Spanish versions of legislation is a trivia issue conservatives get worked up about. They don't care if people don't have health care. Spanish copies of bill is an issue that is a call to arms for conservatives. Rubio is seeking the xenophobic vote. Rubio doesn't have policy positions. He has conservative talking points and fearmongering.

I am a Cuban American. I was born in Havana in the year of Castro's revolution. Like Rubio, I have a strong dislike for that oppressive regime. I was raised conservative but the years and a career in mental health and social work have altered some of my views. When I was conservative, most of my views were based on rigid views of how things should be (not unlike the left). The truth is objective. But while I agree with Mr. Rubio that we need a strong military, I am convinced that he does not have a full experiential understanding of the justice in procuring gay freedoms, the need for progress with stem cells, and the need to stand up for the most unfortunate - the illegal immigrants who may be illegal but are not immoral in their search for a better life for their loved ones. Mr. Rubio should have the courage to shed the preset label of "conservative," and stand up for those in this country who have less rights than others and who are seen as often treated as less than human. Standing up for the God-given rights of all, including gay people and immigrants is a conservative value. This country was founded and has thrived from fighting for the rights of all and challenging false stereotypes. While I agree with MR. Rubio on foreign policy issues, and some economic issues, I challenge my fellow Cuban compadre to dig deeper in his soul and seek truth not partisan convention. That is the measure of a true leader.

Perkins is a nut job. We would be stoning to death non-virgin women on their wedding day, among other things, if he had his way. Religious freedom is probably more alive in Muslim theocracies than in that man's head.
