Why I Doubt Nan Rich Is Trying to Win

Nicole Sandler recently interviewed gubernatorial candidate Nan Rich. The strategy from Rich is to repeatedly ask Crist for a debate. It will not happen as long as Rich's poll numbers are in the tank. According to Public Policy Polling, Rich has a favorability rating of 10 percent. A June Miami Herald article reports that Rich has only raised $379,000.00. Rumor is the Rich campaign is broke. Essentially, it is over before it started.

I have wondered why Rich has pointed out Crist's relationships with Jim Greer, Scott Rothstein and Peter Schorsch. The one thing these men have in common is that their mugshots are all over the internet.

Rich has not attacked Crist's connection to his rather interesting friends. Greer was Crist's handpicked chairman for the Republican Party of Florida. Under sworn testimony, Rothstein claimed he donated money to Crist's campaign in exchange for an appointment.

Crist had tapped Rothstein to the Judicial Nominating Commission for the Fourth District Court of Appeal and the Broward Circuit Court.

“He knew how that game was played. I expected him to do certain things in exchange for large contributions,” Rothstein told a defense attorney Thursday in a federal courtroom in West Palm Beach.

Rothstein has since been disbarred. Rothstein his currently serving 50 years for a Ponzi scheme.

Peter Schorsch is someone familiar with readers of this blog. Michael Pinson filed a complaint with the Florida Bar against Schorsch. The complaint cites Schorsch's run-ins with the law.

The only reason I can think that Rich isn't bringing up Crist's colorful friends is she is secretly resigned to Crist becoming the Democratic nominee and doesn't want to upset the Florida Democratic establishment. If Rich was really trying to win she would be pointing out Crist's connection to Greer, Rothstein and Schorsch 24/7. Candidates that are behind go negative. Candidates that are just running for self-promotion is more worried about media exposure than winning. This explains Rich's obsession with a television debate.

Litbrit appears on Nicole Sander's talk radio/internet show. You can catch Deb's British accent at the 35 minute mark. Sandler and Deb talk the Anthony Weiner controversy.

Deb and Sandler agree that Weiner's defense of not saying at whether or not that photo is of him is incredibly lame. I was disturbed by Weiner's office threatening to arrest a journalist.

Deb makes the observation that female politicians don't do sex scandals. Perhaps because the career-minded women that enter elected office know the media will crucify them. The media was often harsh to Hillary Clinton during her time as First Lady. Bill Clinton's approval ratings went up during the height of the Monica Lewinsky scandal. There is a double standard.

Nicole Sandler talks to MSNBC host Cenk Uygur about her arrest at the Allen West townhall meeting. Sandler tells Uygur how questions were screened. Sandler told Uygur that she was repeatedly pushed by a police officer before her arrest.

This is video of Florida progressive talk show host Nicole Sandler right before she was arrested at Allen West's townhall meeting. Sandler reportedly was maced by police while she was in jail. Raw Story fleshes out what happened.

A Ft. Lauderdale Police Dept. document detailing the arresting officer's take on Sandler's arrest has been acquired by Raw Story.

In it, officer William Rousseau claims that Sandler was told to leave the event because "her behavior caused many of the audience members to enter into a verbal altercation that threatened to become physical."

The officer also claims that he instructed Sandler to leave the premises "at least a dozen times," but that she would not. He further claimed that Sandler became "physically aggressive with this ofc., pushing me several times."

Video footage does not seem to bear that out, and Sandler clearly agreed to leave the event. She did however shout at the officer that he should not touch her, but did not appear to resist when he decided to make an arrest.

My advice to progressives going to townhall meeting is don't raise you voice at police officers. They don't care about freedom of speech and democracy. Cops will bash your head in if they think they are justified. Just calmly leave when they tell you to.

Nicole Sandler Leaning to Voting For Crist

Wow. Nicole Sandler said on her radio show today that she will probably vote for Charlie Crist. Sandler is not a Crist fan, but does not want Marco Rubio in the Senate.
