Mike McCalister V.A. FUBAR

The staggering stupidity of Republican Senate candidate Mike McCalister continues to amaze me. McCalister is running on his military experience in the Army. We have found out that McCalister lied about testifying to Congress as an Army officer. The retired McCalister wore his Army dress uniform at a political fundraiser. The is a violation of Army policy.

We now lear that McCalister doesn't know how the Veterans Administration works. This is especially embarrassing for someone running on his military experience. McCalister thought veterans could only receive medical treatment through the VA for combat related illnesses. Jessica Lillesand informed McCalister that he was mistaken.

That includes Jessica Lillesand, who posed a question at a Suncoast Tiger Bay Club luncheon where McCalister was speaking. Her husband is a lieutenant colonel on active duty. She wanted to explore McCalister’s opposition to government-backed health care.

Does McCalister favor limiting VA benefits to veterans with combat experience?

“It’s my understanding that it needs to be a military-related illness,’’ he said.

“No, it doesn’t,’’ countered Lillesand, a Clearwater disability lawyer.

“No? Okay,’’ McCalister said.

Will McCalister do Floridians a favor and please drop out.

Mike McCalister's Latest Military FUBAR

It is amazing to watch Mike McCalister implode. The Republican Senate candidate committed a serious no no by wearing Army ceremonial uniform to a political fundraiser. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to know that this is against Army policy.

"The retiree is not authorized to wear his uniform to political events," said U.S. Army spokesman Troy Rolan. He cited regulations that say current and former service members should only wear the
uniform to ceremonial events, such as Memorial Day, and should not wear the outfit to political functions.

McCalister, a retired Army Reserves Colonel, was forced to pull the nonexistent the job title of "special operations colonel" off his campaign web site. McCalister also said he testified to Congress as an active colonel. McCalister later claimed he never made that statement in a hysterical camcorder chase involving Marc Caputo, Sarah Rumpf, and Javier Manjarres.

Candidates are done when they become a punchline. The Republican nomination is between Adam Hasner and George Lemieux. MCalister's fundraising will soon dry up.

Mike McCalister's Fun With Video Cameras

Republican U.S. Senate candidate was chased and filmed simultaneously by Miami Herald reporter Marc Caputo, conservative activist Sarah Rumpf and The Shark Tank's Javier Manjarres. McCalister went into a panic when Caputo asked McCalister about his past statements that during his time he testified before Congress. Turns out that is false. McCalister's political handlers go into a panic. The handler say that McCalister has to find a restroom. If that is the case than why are McCalister and his team heading for the exit. Did the handler realize he could have the impression that McCalister was going to pee outside.
