Kendrick Meek Death Watch
The latest Quinnipiac poll shows Jeff Greene within two points of Kendrick Meek. Isn't the point where Meek was suppose to have the Democratic nomination locked up by now?
Meek - 29 percent
Greene - 27 percent
Ferre 3 percent
Thomas Francis has a must-read piece on how horrible a campaign Meek has run.
This is an indictment of the poor job Florida Democrats have done grooming candidates. Theyve known for years that Mel Martinez could be picked off in 2010. They should have identified a rising star by then, preferably a candidate with a more compelling background than a career politician who's the son of a career politician and who has never had to win a tough race.
It was a serious mistake to force Dan Gelber out of the U.S. Senate. Meek is on the verge of losing the Democratic primary. If Greene wins the Democratic establishment is forced to support a seriously eccentric candidate.

Could not agree more, not to mention reaching out to a base and establishing a connection and message...another opportunity missed.
