Keep'em coming

[Update] Unbeknownst to either of us, Michael and I were writing about Michael Steele's quote at the same time. Oops. Michael published his post first, so I've slipped this post under his.

I don't want to steal Michael's "Quote of the Day" meme, especially since he already posted a quote today, but check out what new GOP chairman Michael Steele just said:

"Not in the history of mankind has the government ever created a job."

Kinda tough knowing where to start with this crap. "Not in the history of mankind..." presupposes that the US government has been around since, well, the beginning of mankind. Really now, Steele? Is the United States mentioned in the Bible, along with humans and dinosaurs coexisting? I didn't know the United States was 4000 years old -- somebody tell Caesar! As for our government never creating a job.. Uh yeah, right. Whatever.

Just how ignorant of history is Michael Steele? We have 4 years to find out. Personally, if Steele insists on being this stupid when he opens his mouth, I hope he speaks to the press as much as he wants. Keep'em coming, brainiac.

Bush has said more stupid lies, yet no one could ever get political traction on his mistakes.

Palin makes similar statements which increase her popularity with the republican party.

The vulgar pigboy makes millions denigrating the government. I am meeting more and more people who have pride in how ignorant they are.
