NBC/WSJ President Election Poll

In the latest NBC/Wall Street Journal poll, Barack Obama leads John McCain 47 percent to 41 percent. Obama is beating McCain sounding in nearly every category. His weakness is with white voters. The damage done by the Hillary Clinton campaign is still being felt.

John McCain - 55%

Barack Obama - 35%

White women

Barack Obama - 46%

John McCain - 39%

White surburban women

John McCain - 44%

Barack Obama 38%

McCain's poll numbers are bad. McCain is toast if Obama breaks into the Maverick's lead with white males. McCain's only solid base is white males and soccer moms. McCain will be urged by GOP consultants to run a racially polarizing campaign. The Southern strategy is how Republicans win the White House. I'm not sure that would be successful. Hillary Clinton played the racist card and lost. My guess is the more desperate the McCain campaign becomes the more racist the attackson Obama.
