Quote of the Day 2

Bill Richardson demostrates his his lack of understanding of the Constitution and Christianity.

"Iowa, for good reason, for constitutional reasons, for reasons related to the Lord, should be the first caucus and primary," Richardson, New Mexico's governor, said at the Northwest Iowa Labor Council Picnic. "And I want you to know who was the first candidate to sign a pledge not to campaign anywhere if they got ahead of Iowa. It was Bill Richardson."

There is nothing in the Bible or Constitution that states Iowa must be the first caucus. Locusts will not plague the other 49 states if Iowa is not first. Nor will there be a constitutional. Richardson's pandering makes him come off as unqualified for the Oval Office.

Update: Richardson's campaign is now playing damage control.

But there was no religious motive, said campaign spokesman Tom Reynolds.

“The governor, who’s known for his humor on the campaign trail, was joking,” Reynolds said. “This was an attempt to poke a little fun at the frenzy of activity intended to keep the four early states the earliest ones. Hyperbole, if you will.”
