Quote of the Day

“I made a decision to lead,” he said, “One, it makes you unpopular; two, it makes people accuse you of unilateral arrogance, and that may be true. But the fundamental question is, is the world better off as a result of your leadership?”

George W. Bush

There are so many things wrong with this quote. Bush practically brags about his agrogance. He asks a rhetorical question he has shown no desire to have answered. Bush has shown no patience to the voices of those that disagree with him. Bush has never taken into account that his domestic and foreign policies have been a disaster. The increased military death toll and credit-lending crisis are just two examples.

Another unsurprising fact is that Bush was enjoying his vacation as Katrina was nearing New Orleans.

Hat tip to Jill Filipovic.
