Quinnipiac Florida Presidential Poll
The latest Quinnipiac poll isn't good news for Democrats. Rudolph Giuliani beats every Democratic presidential candidate in Florida.
Giuliani - 50 percent
Clinton - 40 percent
Giuliani - 52 percent
Obama - 36 percent
Giuliani - 50 percent
Edwards - 40 percent
John McCain beats Barack Obama 45 to 39 percent. John Edwards beats McCain 43 to 41 percent. McCain beats Hillary Clinton 45 to 44 percent. So much for the Hillary winning Florida theory.
Al Gore is polling well for someone not in the race. Mitt Romney is polling poorly with evangelicals. Giuliani is doing better than expecting with evangelicals. The message is people would rather disagree with candidates then have them pander false beliefs. Romney comes across as a candidate who has been focus-grouped-to-death.
Only Giuliani and Edwards have 50 percent or higher approval ratings. The poll proves two things.
a). Edwards is the best Democratic candidate for Florida.
b). Democrats have a lot of work to do in the state. Democrats look at Florida as a swing state, but the only recent state-wide races Dems have won is Bill Nelson and Alex Sink. God, help the Dems if Hillary gets the nomination. Howard Dean and Rahm Emanuel are going to have to take marching orders from James Carville.
