Quote of the Day

"But those enemies of mine who did not want me to be king over them—bring them here and kill them in front of me."

Question: did Osama bin Laden or Jesus Christ say this?

Oh come on, Hussey. Are you really that desperate for material that you have taken to misrepresenting biblical scripture?

What you just did is tantamount to me saying

"Michael Hussey just posted the following at Pushing Rope: '...Richards isn’t a member of the KKK, and he doesn’t believe in the inherent superiority or inferiority of any particular race, I’ll bet.'"

Did you post that? Yes. Does the statement accurately portray the setting in which it was posted? No, of course not, you were quoting someone else. If anyone would take the 5 seconds necessary to read your post they would see that.

Similarly, if you had taken the 5 seconds to read the passage that quote comes from you would the misinformation you are conveying.

The passage you quote is from Luke 19:26. Did Jesus say it? Yes, but he was in the process of telling a story about a man who had just returned to his territory after being proclaimed king. These were the king's words in the story, not Jesus issuing a call for his followers to slaughter people. Anyone who reads the chapter will see that.

Shame on you, Michael. I've come to expect far more from you than this petty attempt to misinform your readers about biblical scripture.
