Missouri ID Law

I love the fact that Republicans don't want paper trails or inspections for Diebold voting machines. Yet they are determined to make a needless voting ID law.

Missourians who have driver’s licenses will have little trouble voting, but many who do not will have to go to considerable trouble to get special ID’s. The supporting documents needed to get these, like birth certificates, often have fees attached, so some Missourians will have to pay to keep voting. It is likely that many people will not jump all of the bureaucratic hurdles to get the special ID, and will become ineligible to vote.

The answered question is why do people not applying for driver licence IDs required to pay extra fees and go through needless red tape.

A lawsuit has been filed in the Cole County Circuit Court. The suit state that the ID law violates the constitution’s equal-protection clause. The law does have a real Jim Crow smell to it. For instance, how come absentee voters required to provide ID?

There is no democracy without fair elections. What happened to the voting reform that was suppose to happen after the Florida 2000 fiasco. I'm still waiting.
