Quote of the Day

"Hate to say this, and it's kinda obvious, but I predict this isn't going to be the last right wing anti-government terrorist attack."

Charles Johnson, on Twitter.

Jerad and Amanda Miller were white supremacists and conspiracy theorists.

Jerad was a fan of conspiracy theorist Alex Jones and anti-government rancher Cliven Bundy.

The Millers killed two Las Vegas police officers and a civilian.

Glenn Reynolds Staying Classy

This is the headline for a link on Glenn Reynolds' InstaPundit.

FLORIDA: Clinton pushed the black guy to get out.

The headline to the Politico article Reynolds links to.

Bill Clinton pushed Kendrick Meek to quit Florida race

Reynolds makes the suggest to his conservative readers that Clinton pressed Meek to drop out because he was black. There is nothing in the Politico article to support Reynolds claim.

Reynolds has a history of condoning racism. Reynolds defended this photoshop image of Obama as a shoeshine boy not being racist because Rush Limbaugh was a shoeshine boy. We all know Limbaugh would never say or do anything racist. Not if you count every episode of Limbaugh's radio show.

Reynolds:

UPDATE: Or is it racist? Rush Limbaugh actually was a shoeshine boy. Yeah the racial stereotype is a bit shaky — when I was a kid I knew older brothers of friends who did that; even in Birmingham, Alabama they were white. By the time I was a teenager, of course, shoeshines were on the way out.

ANOTHER UPDATE: Boy, bend over backwards to avoid accusing a Democrat of racism and what do you get? Slagged by Charles Johnson. Oh, well. That’s what I get for my generosity, these days . . . .

Reynolds received flak for the post and updated it to say it was racist. Reynolds quickly backed down after people were pointing out that he came off as a racist jerk. Reynolds' statement of bending "over backwards to avoid accusing a Democrat of racism" is a false meme about the photoshop coming from the Left. Blogger Charles Johnson catches Reynolds in this lie and links to the right-wing blog that first posted the image.

Reynolds could care less about real racism. He wants to use any means he can to attack Democrats. Reynolds furthers racism by falsely accusing others and defending those that perpetuate it.

How Fox News Changes Facts

Neil Cavuto is lashing out at the media for not covering the Tea Bagging protests. Cavuto repeatedly reminds his viewers that Fox News covered Louis Farrakhan's Million Man March. Apparently, Fox News knows the secrets to time travel. The Million Man March occurred on October 16, 1995. Fox News made it's debut October 7, 1996. Amanda Terkel compiled Cavuto's repeated claims that Fox News covered the Million Man March.

– Apparently, these populist protests don’t count much for them. Millions concerned they’re being taxed and feed to death counts even less for them. But a Million March March that turns out to be well shy of a million men — even half a million men — does count for them. We covered the follow-up marches to that Million Man March, because no matter the number, it was a big deal. [Fox News, 4/9/09]

– We do not pick and choose these rallies and protests. We were there for the Million Man March, even though, as I pointed out, it turned out to be well shy of a million men. [Fox Business, 4/11/09]

– Because like in the Million Man March, it didn’t turn out to be a million men, but it got covered. [Fox Business, 4/11/09]

– You seem to pick and choose what events and protests were worthy. Million Man March, worthy, even though it wasn’t a million men, it was half a million. We covered that because we thought it had a worthy message too. [Fox News, 4/8/09]

– But a Million March March that turns out to be well shy of a million men — even half a million men — does count for them. We covered the follow-up marches to that Million Man March, because no matter the number, it was a big deal. [Fox Business, 4/9/09]

Fox News: fair and balanced time traveling coverage.

Side note: it really say something when Charles Johnson thinks the Tea Baggers are saying "deranged stuff."

Joe the Plumber's Bogus Use of Nonpartisan

Joe the Plumber told Pajamas TV the Club for Growth, the Heritage Foundation, and the Kato Institute are nonpartisan organizations.

The Federal Election Commission filed a lawsuit against Club For Growth. The FEC lawsuit contends Club For Growth should have filed as a political action committee. Club For Growth raised $21 million in the 2003-2004 election cycle for Republican candidates.

The Cato Institute is funded by tabacco money. News Corp. owner Rupert Murdoch has served on Cato's board.. Cato fellow Douglas Bandow was paid by Jack Abramoff to write favorable to the lobbyist's clients.

The Heritage Foundation's tagline is "Conservative Policy Research and Analysis." Enough said.

Wurzelbacher is being dishonest. This is a guy that blew off a McCain campaign rally and got tagged by Shepard Smith for not knowing what he was spinning.

SMITH: Joe, do you know Barack Obama’s positions on Israel?

WURZELBACHER: Listen, I know you wanna really get some answers on this one, I’m just not gonna help you out here, Shepherd. Let people go out and find, that’s what I’ve been telling people. […] Listen, you don’t want my opinion on foreign policy. I know just enough probably to be dangerous.

SMITH: Yeah, well that’s what I was kinda wondering.

Joe is a clever huckster and Roger Simon and Charles Johnson are gullible enough to pay him. I find it hysterical the Pajamas Media will pay Joe the Plumber, but not conservative bloggers.

Related: Kieran Healy wrote about the madness of Pajamas Media launch. Johnson and Simon decided on Judy Miller as keynote speaker. What a great way to gain instant credibility.
