Quote of the Day
"I blame feminism and Facebook for the death of the American automobile. I'm a Republican, so I blame everything on feminism — or commies."
PJ O'Rourke, on on NPR's Morning Edition.
Is O'Rourke auditioning to become a shock jock? I'm surprised he didn't refer to feminists as Femi-Nazis. Feminism didn't kill the American automobile. Foreign competitors and rising gas prices killed the auto industry.
Bonus quote:
"Feminism didn't end the smooching. But it did end a lot of marriages. Dad came home from the phallocentric office or factory, and Mom threw a Bella Abzug at him. Feminism also ended job discrimination against women. A woman could get hired as an able-bodied seaman, a man about town — even a strongman in the circus."
O'Rourke is arguing discrimination against women is a good thing. This is bat shit insane.
O'Rourke blames feminism for killing the automotive industry. I blame O'Rourke for being a poor man's version of Hunter Thompson and killing Rolling Stone.
