More trouble on the sinking U.S.S. McCain. Steve Schmidt is the new campaign manager. The McCain people are saying that Rick Davis is moving to focus on long range tasks. Which is a nice way of saying Davis was fired as campaign manager.

This time last year, McCain cut staffers. I have never seen such a badly run campaign. What saved McCain was running against the worst Republican field ever. Rudy Giuliani for President? Sam Brownback? Tom Tancredo? Please.
