Donuts and Earmarks
My God! John McCain's economic advisors are as clueless about economics as the Maverick. Douglas Holtz-Eakin told U.S. News,"We have $60 billion in discretionary spending that was sourced to earmarks." Holtz-Eakin is refering to the 2008 budget. The problem is only $18.3 billion for the fiscal year is in earmarks.
The man McCain hired to be Director of Economic Policy can't do simple math. The media should take McCain and his staff to task for their bogus economic numbers. Unfortunately, the media is too busy feeding McCain donuts.
