Write A Caption: Super Bowl

I'm sure Tas is crying his eyes out that his Patriots lost.

Only a fan because the Pats had their summer training camp for years in the town where I grew up, Smithfield RI. So by default, if I'm cheering for football, I have to like them. But I'm not much of a football fan.

I listened to the game while slaving away on homework. I think I heard that Brady got sacked like 5 times. Superb job by that offensive line there... And where was Randy Moss this playoff season?

It was also a great job by the Patriots' defense in stopping Eli Manning in the final minute of the game. Despite Brady not having an offensive line to speak of he still managed to get them the lead with under two minutes to go, then the defense blows it. Awesome. That's some great football.

Thank god we got rid of our cable package at the house here. I won't have to be sbjected to the deluge of dumbass Eli Manning commercials to go along with all of his brother's dumbass commercials.

And what is it with these playoff afterthought teams going on to win superbowls? Patriots in 2001, Steelers in 05, Giants in 07.. It's like how the Cardinals won the World Series in 06 despite not even having won 90 games in the regular season. They weren't the best team, just the hottest team at the time.

Alirghty, I viewed the highlights. They were pretty hard to miss today..

I still can't understand how Manning escaped getting sacked. More power to him for making a legendary play, then throwing a ball that I still can't believe was caught and not fumbled. On one end, that should have been a sure sack; and on the other end, that should have been a sure incomplete pass. But the Giants pulled it off, so congrats to the Super Bowl champions.

Plus they figured out how to stop the Patriots' offense: get some big motherfuckers to sack Brady all night. Who knew that would work? I'm not sure where his offensive line was... Nor was I sure where the Patriots' defense was in the 4th quarter.

I guess I have a problem with Brady getting dumped on for the loss because he's not the one that choked. Dude's getting sacked all night and he still manages to give his team the lead with under 3 minutes to go. And earlier in the game, he still managed to get his team within 30 yards of their end zone... Before getting sacked again. But then Belichick makes him attempt to pass on 4th and 13? I don't care if a field goal kick is 50 yards away, you have to do it at that point. You have to. So there's potentially 3 points down the toliet.

Brady did his job, but there was a lot of choking surrounding him.

Kinda feels like the Napeolenic wars. with Belichick playing the role of the short guy. It looked like the Patriots were unstoppable. The third Super Bowl was Austerlitz, and who could touch the French after that? Then he got greedy and tried invading Russia... Last year, Belichick lost in the AFC championship. Both losses took luster off the magic of each respective general.

And now Belichick raised a massive force only to get defeated at Waterloo. Like Napoleon, he had his opportunities to win the battle, but the magic just isn't there anymore.

I wonder if St. Helena is next...

Brady didn't have the time to set up in the pocket.

Why did Eli Manning win the MVP? He didn't have a great game. Jason Tuck had two sacks. He created a lot of pressure and openings for the other Giants linemen.

Quarterback's always get MVP, it seems... But Manning avoided that sack and lead his team down the field in two minutes to get the game winning touchdown. He may not have had the best overall game, but he played one of the best quarters ever.

Kinda like Patriots in reverse: legendary season, except for that last game...

MVP = He who laughs last.
