Without Walls Under Investigation

The Senate Committee on Finance has launched an investigation into the finances of Without Walls leader Randy and (soon to be divorced) wife Paula White. I'm wondering what the hell took so long.

Paula White owns a $3.5 million condo in Trump Tower. The Whites have spent money on plastic surgey and bought a Bentley convertible using their tax exempt status. The worst offense is selling $871,000 worth of merchandise from their businesses to Without Walls. That is extremely fishy.

This should be interesting. I never had a personal grievance against Without Walls. They do good work for the homeless and are tolerant enough to have Joe Redner speak at the church. I was just wondering if the Whites were going to get busted for their lavish lifestyle. It's hard for them to say they are doing God's work when they live $2.1 million on Bayshore Boulevard home.

It seems that the govenment thinks that Randy & Paula White of Church Without Walls is stealing money from the minstrie. Maybe they are and maybe they aren't. But it sounds the goverment wants to get there hands in too.Always wanting to take and take if someone else is getting it.Maybe they should start right in their own backyard. Who is making money off the war. Who is making money rebuilding Iraq that we destroyed.Come on wake up folks. Uncle Sam is the biggest crook on the planet. They wont stop until they have it all. The poor get poorer, the middle class get poorer and the rich get it all. Tax breaks, cut backs, side deals, as long as they pad the others pocket. WAKE UP PEOPLE OF AMERICA. Who owns the company rebuilding Iraq, Who makes money when gas prices go up. Who's kids are not fighting this war or any other war.Now they want to attack our religion.

I think Randy and Paula White are getting MOST OF IT. This is good news for me. For all of us.
They're shams. Stealing from vulnerable people.

Why is it that corporate America i.e., Bill Gates, etc, can have "things" and not be questioned, but you let a minister have "things" and they are obviously stealing from the church? Maybe you should do a little investigating or wait for the outcome of the official investigation before passing judgment. Both Randy and Paula have outside income. Paula has written several #1 selling books and she gets advances, as well as, royalties off those. If anyone should be well off, it should be those who are working for people's eternal good. What's wrong with you jealous people?

Ok, you do not have to think that all ministers should be broke...that is not what is under investigation here. This is not a debate or attack on the prosperity message and those who deliver it. This is a simple investigation on the allocation of money that has been given to the church/ministry for specific purposes. I know some think the govt is trying to get their hands on the money for tax purposes, but there are also greater infractions involved in the protection of those who have given this ministry. There are many laws that govern the distribuation of non profit funds. The White's are being investigated on those areas. Quite trying to defend them, let the govt do their job. If they are innocent, then so be it. Good for them. If not, then whether you choose to judge them, support them, blog about them, etc...is up to you. Let the chips fall as they may.

Ministries are run with PUBLIC funds. Businesses are run with PRIVATE funds. Each organization serves a different purpose. Ministries are not for profit. Business are for profit. In essence NFP organizations are to provide a service to the community without making a profit from it.

As a Christian I have no problem with Pastor's living a prosperous life. Where I draw the line is when that life becomes excessive. A nice home, a nice car, nice jewelry etc...they should have. But when the nice turns into mansions, plastic surgery and planes that is where I draw the line.

I don't believe in God, though I was raised Baptist. I like the concept of God, and I think religion is a good thing. So, in general, I have a problem with the government investigating churches. What I don't understand is, Why don't church members have rights? Why don't church members require that their churches participate in http://www.ecfa.org? My family gives so much money to the church, and they don't have much to begin with. I wish my family would demand rights (financial statements, etc) from their churches. If the church doesn't become a member of the ecfa, then you just don't go to that church. There are plenty of other churches (good) that don't have anything to hide from members. Such actions should get churches to do what's right: afterall, they do think (and operate) like businesses, though few want to admit it. I just think that ecfa can do a better job than the government. I want the government to stay the hell out of religion, yet I want accountability for tax evasion.

This is interesting. I've always had difficulty with the prosperity message. Biblically, I believe everything we have belongs to God but he lets me keep 90%.

Jesus didn't run for office, entered no popularity contests, didn't hold a steady job, didn't wear the latest fashion and didn't worry that what he needed would not be provided.

As far as the Senate, I hardly think the investigation has anything to do with Biblical principals or protecting a contributing public.

The interesting questions would be what percentage of the contributions make it to His work and what percentage of their income are they giving? If the answers aren't all and 10%, the Senate is the least of their worries.

Whenever you see these tv evangelists living the lavish life style, they simply say it is for the glory of God. baloney, why don't they use the millions for helping the needy, feedinf the hungry. It's because they are hungry, hungry with greed The whites will fall just like Jim and Tammy,Jimmr swaggert, Robert Tilton, and many more.AND THEY DESERVE IT!!

I have watched many of the television evangelists that have come under fire for their lavish lifestyles, I believe the evidence points to misuse of funds that are solicited from faithful viewers allegedly for purpose of spreading the Gospel. First of all, if you listen carefully to what these ministers preach (Creflo Dollar, Paula White, Kenneth Copeland, Kenneth Hagin, Benny Hinn, Mike Murdock, etc)THEY ARE NOT PREACHING THE GOSPEL! They are preaching some fable about Jesus Christ going into hell and taking on the nature of Satan; they teach that Jesus Christ had to be born-again; they teach something that appears to be on the level of magic when they teach about faith in faith (rather than faith in God) because a human being, according to their teaching can command the Holy God to give something to a human being who has learned to "use their faith" (or chant their faith word mantra) and force the hand of God! How revolting! God is Holy, Sovereign, all together righteous, and He ALWAYS acts in accordance with His own will. There is absolutely nothing in the Bible to supported the Gospel of perfect health and wealth that is taught by these Word Faith ministers. They are using these underhanded teachings as tactics to solicit and extract money from Christians. They are the only ones getting wealthy from this "use of their faith". They are FLEECING THE FLOCK to satisfy their own greed and avarice. In the Gospels, Jesus Christ has given us an example of how to minister to people. Yes, He healed people but never once does He say that ALL Christians will have ALL of their physical illnesses healed on this earth. The diseases that He healed by His stripes while upon the Cross is the disease of sin. These ministers are very crafty because they tell you that all you need to do is give the right amount of money (this is the most important thing) have the right attitude, right kind of faith, say the right words and you will have the complete healing you ask (demand) of God and material abundance will flow into your coffers. Brothers and Sisters in Christ, these teachings of these ministers are lies. The only way these ministers are becoming filthy rich is they are using the money donated by Christian supporters. God is not pleased with this behavior and He will judge those guilty ones. He said to be kind to one another especially unto those of the household of faith. For a minister to take money from a family who can barely make ends meet (but who want to be faithful to God by supporting the ministry)and use it to buy Rolls Royces and million dollar planes and mansions is a shame before the Lord. It is GREED pure and simple. I would never support any of these ministries. There are some ministers who do preach the Gospel and who do not live ostentatious lives of excess as these I've mentioned. A minister does not need to live like pauper. But as a minister of the Gospel, they don't need to live like hedonistic heathens either, engaging in wasteful spending while people are starving spiritually and physical.
