Open Thread: What is The Most Rocking Song

The A.V. Club has selected the most rocking song of all-time. Check it out and see if you agree. Tell me what you think is the most rocking song. My pick is a different song by the same band.

Well, I'd say that the criteria and the bias toward older music are nonsense. I'd go with either Paradise City or Welcome to the Jungle from Guns n Roses.

Fortunate Son by Creedence Clearwater Revival is an amazingly rocking song. Conjure Me by the Afghan Whigs, Lipstick Vogue by Elvis Costello and Complete Control by the Clash are rocking songs.

Lately, I've been rocking out to:

"I Wrote Holden Caulfield" - Screeching Weasel
"Kill a Commie" - Gang Green
"This is Boston, Not LA" - The Freeze

As far as the last two selections go, Boston hardcore definitely rocked a lot harder than other scenes. Black Flag recordings have always sounded like shit to me...

Whatever song rocks the most really varies by the week for me. Some weeks, I'll be back on a full metal kick and say that anything by Ed Gein definitely rocks the most. Other weeks, I'll be on an alt-country kick and swear that Slim Cessna's Auto Club is the most rocking band ever. It all depends.
