SB 2464

The Florida Senate Judiciary Committee is taking a step to rectify the injustice of people falsely imprisoned. SB 2464 will pay the falsely convicted $50,000 for each year incarcerated. All payments over $500,000 will be paid in installments over a ten year period.

The bad news is I don't see how SB 2464 is going to pass in the Senate or House. Republicans are too afraid of being called soft on crime during an election. Politics trumps justice. The legislature is still sitting on paying Marissa Amora. My faith is sorely lacking. I hope they prove me wrong.
