Mary Mulhern Wins

Congratulations to Mary Mulhern for winning the winning the the district 2 Tampa City council race. Democrat John Dingfelder also won. Democrats I'm not too fond of like Gwen Miller, Tom Scott and Pam Iorio won.

Jim Johnson liveblogged the election and has the play by play details. I can safely say after the election that I thought Shawn Harrison's money advantage was going to give him the edge. So I can't get on Jim getting the Mulhern/Harrison race wrong. Wow, Harrison is even more of a sucky candidate than I imagined.

The good news for the left is we got a progressive on the City Council.

I am so happy about Mary Mulhern !

I thought that maybe Gwen and Redner would do a runoff since neither got fifty percent and because I went to bay news nine and neither of them had the orange hilite line marking them as winner. On the other hand, I am quite sleepy and that was hours ago ...

I'm pretty disappointed in the Reverend Tom thing, too. Never mind about Pam ... I'm just settling in for another four years of ... mini-jeb. And thanking god that dick did not get longer term limits pushed through ...
I am going to go check out your late nite music.
By the way, as I have time I read more of your blog and discover you were touching on things close to my heart before I got here. Thank you for being there when I was sleeping at the wheel.

We are just trying to compete with the other site that is "THEE place for news in and about Tampa."

I have to say that Joe Redner would add a little spice to the City Council, that is for sure.

I have to think that Shawn forced his campaign people to run TV instead of direct mail. EVERY decent political consultant knows that in a low turnout election, TV makes no sense.

There is an axiom that a successful candidate needs to dominate the dominant medium in an election. In this case, the dominant medium was direct mail... and despite having 3 times more money, Shawn decided not to even compete in the medium.

Would it have helped?? Who knows... but it sure couldn't have hurt.

Shawn made me angry with that pretense that he had two 'moms' scared that their children were going to be molested in New Tampa whilst he tried to push through that silly ordinance. (more check your papers for the brown shirts stuff)

One of those 'moms' is high-powered using her mom-suit to push a terrible agenda.

I daresay she wouldn't want ME in her neighborhood, EITHER. Too bad.

Check out these 'moms'. My point is: they masqueraded as 'mere Moms' but they are two high-powered ladies with an agenda.
I think it was Harrison's plan.
I'm so glad he got kicked to the curb.
Imagine Mary, Joe and Charlie... wow. Things will be better. Although I have my druthers about Charlie's gambling connects. hmmm
hopefully, he will still be the same guy at his job. Time will tell.
