Hillary Flip-Flops On Pace Statement
Hillary wants to be all things to all voters. This triangulation means she won't make a decisive stand on any issue. Clinton was asked about General Peter Pace’s comment that homosexuality is immoral.
Pace also told the paper, "I believe that homosexual acts between individuals are immoral, and that we should not condone immoral acts.
Clinton was asked by ABC News about Pace's view that gays and lesbians are engaged in "immoral" acts.
"Well, I'm going to leave that to others to conclude," she said.
Wow! What straight talk from someone who wants to be President. Pam Spalding points out that Hillary is going to have to do better if she keeps trying to sqeeze cash out of groups like the Human Rights Campaign.
Triangulation is a stupid political strategy. It just makes Hillary look like a weak flip-flopper. (Which she is.) Her campaign was in full damage control mode.
Clinton's spokesman, Philippe Reins, said the New York senator "obviously" disagrees with Pace and that everyone, including the general, "has the right to be wrong, but should not inject their personal beliefs into public policy."
Then Wednesday night, the campaign released a statement from the senator herself, saying, "I disagree with what he said and do not share his view, plain and simple."
Make a stand and stick to it. The public has disagreed (with good reason) with many of George W. Bush's policies. He has stuck by his ill-faithed policies and was re-elected. People want to see leadership. Even when they may not agree with a candidate's position.
