2nd Republican Senator Wants Gonzales Out

The Bush vote-of-confidence kiss-of-death continues. Republican Sen. Gordon Smith is asking for Alberto Gonzales to resign.

"For the Justice Department to be effective before the U.S. Senate, it would be helpful" if Gonzales resigned, Sen. Gordon Smith, R-Ore.

Gonzales is toast. Bush will stand by him and it will further hinder Republicans. For Bush it's no longer about what is good for the party. It is all about enforcing his will.
