Florida House Speaker Marco Rubio is finding interesting and expensive ways to use taxpayers money.

Memo to Mr. Rubio: You were chosen by your colleagues to be speaker of the House, not governor. In fact, Mr. Rubio is paying his chief of staff $40,000 more than Gov.-elect Charlie Crist will make when he's sworn in. Three members of Mr. Rubio's staff also will make more than the $132,932 salary of the governor, who leads the nation's fourth-largest state.

And we realize that trying to explain crazy policies like this to the public must require amazing skill and verbal dexterity, but does Mr. Rubio's spokesman really deserve to be paid $119,484? That's $23,000 more than the governor's spokesperson.

That is not counting the $559,000 in renovations. Including a new dining room for House members. It's good to be Speaker.

Jose Fuentes explains that Rubio's staff is highly experienced. What Fuentes fails to explain he is the highest paid public PR man in Tallahassee. Ofcourse, he would say he's highly qualified. What we are seeing in Tallahassee is the same sense of entitlement that damaged the Republicans on Capital Hill. With gerrymandered districts - that isn't going to change soon.
