Martin Anderson News

The sad news is there has been no progress in the Martin Anderson investigation.

Facts:

None of the guards or correction officials has been charged with a crime.

Charles Siebert did not have a medical licence when he ruled that Anderson died of a ickle cell trait. He has not been disciplined.

Gina Jones, Anderson's mother, has unsuccessfully attempted to meet with Governor Jeb Bush. Why won't the Governor meet with her?

Crump said the family just wanted 15 minutes of Bush's time. Gina Jones said she wanted to ask the governor ''how would you feel'' if his son had died in a similar circumstance and no arrests had been made.

Anderson's family has filed a $40 million federal lawsuit against Florida. The trail will start April 16, 2007.

There is no deadline as to when Mark Ober's investigation will end or a guarantee changes will be filed.

I wrote about this a great deal. The story just gets more and more depressing. A teen is beaten in a boot camp and there have been no answers as to why this was allowed to happen. Why has this been such a problem for the state of Florida? Question the people responsible and press changes. It's been ten months now. I fear the only way answers will be provided is from the lawsuit.
