Southerners Doubt Iraq War

The Institute for Southern Studies have a poll on how strong Southern support of the Iraq war is. Turns out not so good.

Southern states - 62 percent very sad
Non-Southern states - 58 percent very sad

Only 9 percent of Southerners said they felt very proud about the Iraq war. The poll was a series of set choices. Which explains why there are no undecided paticipants.

What is interesting is that paticipants aren't sure if more troops are needed or what the Iraq mission is. The Iraq mission has become so muddled. First it was weapons of mass destruction. When the inspectors didn't find any it became about letting Iraq have elections. Now conservative columnist David Brooks is floating the idea that America should replace a government voted in by the Iraq people. (That's a dangerous precedent to set.) No wonder the American people are confused.
