This Week In Corruption

Mel Martinez received $250 thousand from a Jack Abramoff fundraiser. Abramoff set up a meeting with Martinez for Bob "Freedom Fries" Ney. This was when Martinez was the Sec. of HUD.

Ney told Martinez that his "number one priority as the newly installed Chairman of the Housing Subcommittee was Native American Indian Tribal housing," according to the plea.

Martinez states that he can't recall the meeting. He also couldn't recall a Terri Schiavo talking points memo he carried in his pocket. So, his credibility on remembering things really sucks. Mel also has one problem: Ney recalled the meeting to the FBI.

In other news: the FBI has tripled the amount of agents dealing with Washington D.C. corruption.
