It Is A Tax Shift

Yesterday, I wrote that Jeb Bush unfairly shifted the tax burden on county and city governments. Jim Davis finally says the right thing. (It's about time.)

Davis, meanwhile, said the state is forcing local governments to pick up too much of the cost for schools and other infrastructure, which can lead to higher property taxes. He said the state paying a larger share is the "first thing we can do."

Dominic Calabro of Florida Taxwatch states "Save Our Homes (amendment) has been a tax shift." That gives tax cuts to wondering things like charter boats and the Professional Golf Hall of Fame.
