The Gutter Twins Live

The Gutter Twins have been a much-talked-about project in indie rock circles. The band is made of of Greg Dulli and Mark lanegan. Their record will be a duet album like Lanegan did with Isobel Campbell. The question is when hell the album is going to come out? It was supposed to be released a long time ago.

Fortunately, a video of a rare Gutter Twins live performance was captured. The new song Front Street is fantastic. It's dark and intense. Dulli sings lead vocals. Dulli's live vocals have been sounding better than ever. They aren't as ragged as his most drugged-out Afghan Whigs days. Lanegan sings at a low register on the song. Lanegan sounds like the Grim Reaper whispering in your ear.

I've read a couple times before that the Gutter Twins only record on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day. That, I think is why it's taking so long. They are supposedly going to get together for Christmas 2006 to bang out a couple more songs before the release of the album in spring 2007

I heard Dulli say he plans on having the album out by 2007. The problem is Dulli has the Twilight Singers and runs two bars in L.A. Lanegan has a solo career and is in Queens of the Stone Age.
