Troll of the Day

This anonymous winner is leading a boycott of women.

I am an American man, and I have decided to boycott American women. In a nutshell, American women are the most likely to cheat on you, to divorce you, to get fat, to steal half of your money in the divorce courts, don’t know how to cook or clean, don’t want to have children, etc. Therefore, what intelligent man would want to get involved with American women?

American women are generally immature, selfish, extremely arrogant and self-centered, mentally unstable, irresponsible, and highly unchaste. The behavior of most American women is utterly disgusting, to say the least.

And we are to believe this guy is the role model for mental stability? I think not.

Troll Hall of Fame: Michele Bachmann Fan

According to this anonymous comment, Michele Bachmann isn't practicing bigotry towards the LGBT community. Bachmann is actually trying to keep Minnesota from turning into the next Sodom and Gomorrah.

Bradlee Dean, Jake McMillan, and Michele Bachmann are all wonderful Godly people. Bradlee Dean is just trying to keep Homosexuals out of Hell. To me that is love. Homosexual behavior is sinful, and Gays can NEVER be married in the eyes of Yahweh! Unfortunately people like godless Sen Scott Dibble want to make Minnesota another Sodom and Gomorrah, and then good Bible believing people like me will have to leave. Gay people Michele Bachmann is only trying to restrict your civil rights because she loves you so much. I'm glad we cleared that up.

Troll Hall of Fame: Jackson

It is time to add another member to the Troll Hall of Fame. I posted an audio clip of Opie and Anthony making fun of Bruce Springsteen. I related to the piece because I grew up in New Jersey in the 70s and 80s. I heard enough Bruce Springsteen to last several lifetimes. For the record: there are Springsteen albums I love. I do get annoyed by how he sings about a New Jersey that only exists in his mind. It's is also hard to take Springsteen's workingman blues seriously when he has admitted the only job he ever had was as a musician.

Reader Jackson went off on Opie and Anthony in the comments. Unfortunately for Jackson, I seriously doubt the radio duo read this blog. Jackson was so mad he left two comments and used the BIG CAP KEYS. That will put Opie and Anthony in their place.

Troll Hall of Fame: Henry Young

It is time for a new inductee of the Troll Hall of Fame. Henry Young provided the most hysterical nonsense about ... I'm not even sure. Henry is worked up about something. I am just not sure what he is trying to say. I feel like I got trolled by Snuffy Smith.


Why can't just those why pay taxes get health benefits...how b'out that Obama and the rest of the health care reform starters??? NO seriously, this I could be in favor of, but not just letting any old person that comes to America, even the illegal’s to get health care and our taxes go up the roof???? No, sure, I will cont. to fight this...

Troll Hall of Fame: Gerald Hancock

Gerald Hancock get points for using an actual name. Most trolls log in under Anonymous. Hancock's leaps of logic makes Alice In Wonderful seem like a study in realism. Hancock argues current laws permit gay people to marry. They just need to stop being gay. Apparently, gayness can be turned on and off at will. "Look Mom, I'm not gay anymore. Oh wait! I'm gay again."


These people are sick! It's not the law that needs to be changed, it's the gay's mind and heart that should change. They have the equal right to marry already. They can change their disorientation, and get oriented correctly someone of the opposite sex: And stop trying to make the 90% of the people change for them...a wimpy 10% of the population.


Mr. Hancock is a little too curious about Perez Hilton's gender. There are all kinds of Freudian implications about why Hancock is so obsessed about Hilton's anatomy. I respect Hancock's privacy enough to let him deal with those issues.

Hancock cites the Constitution as giving gay people the right to marry staraight people.


Under the constitution, they have equal rights already...they just refuse to use those rights due to their own perversity of heart and mind.


I will go one step further. The 14th amendment states "No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States." The conservative-leaning Supreme Court has refused to hear any gay marriages cases. A major reason is the court doesn't have the moral courage to dive into the gay marriage debate.

Another reason is there is no legal justification to bar gay marriage. Loving v Virginia made it clear that bigotry isn't a legal reason to bar two people from marrying. The sanctity of marriage wasn't destroyed because of interracial unions. God hasn't destroyed Massachusetts with thunder bolts. People have a right to practice their religious beliefs. They don't have a right to impose them under false pretenses.

The anonymous poster is a racist. Why use the words "Black arab?" It is a racist slur. The "I have many friends with dark skin" defense is old. I seriously doubt the commentor has friends of color. The final straw is the commentor doesn't even have the courage to make such a slur under his true identity.

Congratulations to Anonymous Racist. You are now in the Pushing Rope troll hall of fame.

Update: Anonymous Racist compares links Obama's name to Osama bin Laden. He still argues he isn't a racist. Anonymous Racist has made a single point pro or con about SCHIP. Obama keeping his campaign promise of increasing SCHIP funding was what my post dealt with.

Troll Hall of Fame: Bryan



Bryan used to troll around Pushing Rope and Tas's defunct blog Loaded Mouth. Tas and I took great joy in mocking Bryan. In 2006, Bryan promised to write a muckraking expose on Tas. Bryan never got to the article because of his busy schedule trolling other progressive blogs.

I wrote the post "Charlie Crist Economics 101." I argued the housing bubbble popped and sales taxes wouldn't pay for Florida's growth. I didn't know residents would start leaving the state. Creating a smaller tax base. Since then the housing market tanked and Florida is in a budget deficit. Bryan took pains explaining to me that this would never happen.


The article you linked indicates a substantial surplus in the current budget.
Given that Crist is correct about Florida's growth, what exactly is wrong with his economic understanding, assuming that that the inherent instability of sales-tax revenue in a tourist-reliant state doesn't lead to an exceptional decrease in revenue?

And if that were the case, wouldn't Crist be able to react in some manner, as by recommending a change in policy to account for the loss in revenue?


What policies changes has Charlie Crist instituted besides raiding trust funds and borrowing money? Cutting programs for the needy and driving the state in debt is not sound policy. Crist balked at the cigarette tax and walked away from Seminole Indian Tribe controversy.

Crist negotiated the deal without legislative approval. The Florida Supreme Court ruled the gaming compact unconstitutional. The Seminoles refused to shut down the blackjack and slot machines. Republicans have asked the federal government to intervene. The state is losing $100 million in tax revenue and Crist has remained silent on his mess.

Bryan the troll declares growth will save Florida.


If Florida is having problems paying for current growth management, then why is there a current surplus?

Where is that Florida surplus, Bryan? The housing bubble popped when people stop buying houses. That is exactly what happened in Florida.

Bryan continues to argue the 2006 housing market was fantastic.

The part about decreased confidence about the future?
Does "downward momentum" mean slowing price gains or decreasing prices?

Do you just read into stuff what you want to see, or what?


In 2006, I saw Florida in economic trouble. Bryan, I could ask you if you saw what you wanted to see. But that would be a pointless rhetorical question.

Internet Stalking Is Real

Jill at Feministe has experienced online harrassment from members of AutoAdmit.com.


This article in the Washington Post and this post by Ann Althouse, both of which are about students on law school message boards posting pictures and nasty comments about female classmates, struck a nerve — because I’m one of the women they’re talking about, and my pictures have been posted on their site.


The WaPo article is about AutoAdmit, a law-school-oriented message board that is, essentially, a massive toilet of racism and sexism (not linking to the site — google if you’re interested). I’ve written about AutoAdmit before, when I found out that they were posting numerous pictures of me, making comments about raping and hate-fucking me, and debating whether or not I was fuckable or a stupid fat bitch. I’m hardly the only person they’ve gone after. While many of the threads on the message board are about law-school-related issues, they’re mostly obnoxious in some way or another. There’s an obsession with “prestige,” and commenters regularly disparage lower-tier schools, and use the term “TTT” to denote anything they consider not good enough.


The Ann Althouse post is the usual stupidity I have come to expect from her.


Too beautiful to appear in public? Too hot to be hired? Come on! What rational employer would deny you a job because idiots chatted about you on line in a way that made if obvious that the only thing you did was look good?


It goes further than that. I got permission from Jill to blog this. She has been stalked online.


Wants to learn about girl, but is social outcast, so have to stalk her on internet.


That is not what a young woman wants to see published about her on the internet. Althouse has a history of going after attractive young female bloggers. Case in point is the Clinton photo-op where Althouse took a mean-spirited swipe at Jessica. The irony is Althouse takes great offense when someone disagrees with her.


ADDED: Lindsay Beyerstein is more upset than I am about the fact that there is a lot of loose talk about people on the internet -- though presumably not about the dumb, loose talk about me on her own site. She fails to reveal what repressive remedies she has in mind to keep the internet from chattering. But I hope she'll at least do that "more speech" thing and condemn that blog where they impersonate me all the time -- or does she think I deserve it?


Let me get this straight. Althouse can make uncivil remarks about another woman's breasts and laugh off the concerns of women having sexist comments about them posted on the internet. But God forbid someone use their first amendment right to disagree with her. Thou does protest too much!

We have heard plenty of internet horror stories of people getting stalked. The issue must be dealt with seriously so women and children are secure. While not infringing on free speech. I have no idea how that will be done. I am certain it won't be the Ann Althouse remedy of laughing off everyone's privacy except her own.
