Donald Trump: Investigative Reporter

This the second time Donald Trump has dodged the question on what his investigation into President Barack Obama's birth certificate has found. The first time was during a CNN interview. Trump ducks the question again when asked by Daily Beast blogger Meghan McCain.

Donald: I’ll give you an example though of what you were saying before when you were talking about fighting Obama. This guy has more protection than any human being. When I mention why doesn’t he show his birth certificate, the press kills me! It’s unbelievable! But I keep mentioning it.

Meghan: Why do you think this birther thing still has such legs?

Donald: Because I think there’s something to it. For weeks, I said to people, “No, he was probably born here, but I’ll check into it.” You know a certificate of live birth is not a birth certificate and all that. I’m more and more convinced he may not have been born here.

Meghan: You sent people over to Hawaii to investigate, correct?

Donald: Yes.

Meghan: Did you find anything?

Donald: Well, I better not comment on that yet.

The interview gets more hysterical when McCain asks if she can work on Trump's campaign.

I want the media to keep asking Trump what his investigation has unveiled. Rationale people know Trump's birther investigation is bogus. No comment is not going to cut it forever. Trump has placed himself in a position where he has to either produce a smoking gun or be revealed as a publicity-seeking fraud.

Progressive Sexism

Megham McCain got grief for posting a picture of yourself on Twitter. Cenk Uygur of the The Young Turks said McCain was "asking for it." Could a progressive pundit use a worse choice of words than Uygur.

Keith Olbermann refered to conservative blogger Michele Malkin "as a mashed-up bag of meat." Another poor choice of words.

[Malkin's] total mindless, morally bankrupt, knee-jerk, fascistic hatred, without which Michelle Malkin would just be a big mashed-up bag of meat with lipstick on it.

Progressives, you can diagree with a conservative woman, without making sexist remarks. Progressive values are about promoting equality. Not bashing women.

Quote of the Day

"I have no interests in running for office."

Meghan McCain

Let's check back with Meghan 10 years from now and see if she still doesn't want to run.

Christine Todd Whitman Tells GOP to Drop Homophobia

Christine Todd Whitman calls on the Republican Party to drop banning gay marriage from the party platform. Whitman also supports gay and lesbians serving in the military.

“Well, I am somebody who believes in the separation of church and state and that the government, frankly, ought to be out of the business of marriage entirely,” Whitman told CNSNews.com after her speech.

Whitman gives an eloquent plea for tolerance to Log Cabin Republicans.

“I am not saying to Christian conservatives, ‘There is no place for you,’” said Whitman. “I am saying, ‘Please stop saying there is no place for us.’

"Great quote by Christie Todd Whitman," Meghan McCain wrote on Twitter.

The question is how will President Barack Obama react to Whitman and former John McCain campaign Steve Schmidt coming out in favor of gay marriage. The cultural landscape is changing. Obama wanted change. Obama is now forced to deal with change.

Rush Limbaugh Apology Alert

We all remember Michael Steele having to apologize for refering to Rush Limbaugh as merely an entertainer. Rep. Todd Tiahrt poorly chose his words to the Kansas City Star.

Tiahrt was asked by a Kansas City Star Editorial Board member whether Limbaugh was now the de facto leader of the GOP.

"No, no, he's just an entertainer," Tiahrt said.

Tiahrt's spokesman Sam Sackett issued this apology to Limbaugh.

"The congressman believes Rush is a great leader of the conservative movement in America -- not a party leader responsible for election losses," Sackett told The Eagle editorial board. "Nothing the congressman said diminished the role Rush has played and continues to play in the conservative movement."

I love the party that claims only they can protect us from terrorism can't even stand up to Limbaugh. Meghan McCain is the only Republican willing to take shots at right-wing pundits. That could change if the younger McCain decides to run for office.
