Outreach From Hell

Virginia Republicans are doing a minority outreach to voters. The goal is to change minds and help swing the state for John McCain. The Virginia GOP is so out of touch that they thought having George Allen as a featured speaker is a good idea.

Let me repeat this: Republicans are using George "Macaca" Allen to attract more minority voters.

George "Macaca" Allen has endorsed Fred Thompson. Allen has been appointed co-chair. The reasoning for this is sickening.

Some strategists said Mr. Allen’s appointment was tactical.

“Right now, the play is to the base,”said Jack Burkman, a Republican strategist and lobbyist, and Mr. Allen “remains very popular with the base.” The macaca incident “did not change the impression of Allen at all” among his conservative followers, Mr. Burkman said.

Because these people like Allen's past with the Confederate Flag and race-baiting. This says much about how desperate Thompson is to get votes.

Macaca Man Comeback?

Stuff this funny can not be made up. The Washington Times reports George Allen will host a dinner to discuss running for the Senate again. Allen would be running for John Warner's seat if he decides to retire.
