Skeet Shooting Fiasco
Note to White House political team. President Barack Obama is not running for the Republican nomination to become Florida's next Agriculture Commissioner. Republican Adam Putnam can pander to the conservative base by doing photo-ops and telling Floridians how easy he made it to put guns into the hands of Floridians. The White House is attempting to pander to NRA members by showing the President skeet shooting. These people will never support gun regulations. To make matters worse, the White House forgot they live in the internet age. Only after releasing the skeet shooting photo did they ask people not to photoshop the image. We can look forward to future photoshops of the President shooting school children or any other offensive madness. The photoshops have already started. This falls under Obama's instincts to pander to demographics that aren't part of his political base. Polls show that even Republican voters support gun control. We have a President that thinks appealing to a powerful political base is by declaring he is either a Blue Dog Democrat or a moderate Republican. Obama should ask Lincoln Chafee how well things are going for moderate Republicans or perhaps Heath Shuler on how the past few election cycles have been to Blue Dogs. Obama crafts his message for political coalitions that are nearly extinct. If Harry Truman were alive he would tell President Obama to say he is a proud Democrat. Whether Obama likes it or not he is the leader of the Democratic Party. Truman made this famous quote about how to handle Republicans.
"Carry the battle to them, don't let them bring it to you. Put them on the defensive and don't ever apologize for anything."
