Quote of the Day

"I was there when we had problem in 1967, walked the streets with racial unrest. But this is a very friendly, very loving city. Even back during the riots, if somebody wanted to hurt somebody, they could have. They didn't. It was more like a panty-raid type thing. I was there, I was on the street."

Former Tampa Mayor Dick Greco, comparing the 1967 race riots to a college prank.

Greco was Mayor during the riots. Buildings were burned and a child was killed. I don't think Greco is a racist. Greco is looking at his 60s tenure as mayor through rose-colored glasses.
