Rangel Walks Out On Ethics Hearing

Rep. Charles Rangel is done. Rangel wanted the House Ethics Committee to read the charges against him in a closed hearing The committee declined.

(Blake) Chisam told an ethics panel of four Republicans and four Democrats, "There are no ... issues as to any material facts of this case. As a result the case is ripe for decision."

Rangel did not want the media to hear the ethics committee's findings. Rangel waled out on the pretense of needing an attorney present. Chisam read the 13 charges of financial and fundraising violations. Rangel failed to properly file tax returns. The Congressman used government stationary to solicit donations for the Charles B. Rangel Center for Public Service at City College of New York. Rangel has also repeatedly filed inaccurate financial disclosure statements.

The Youtube clip of Rangel walking out of his own hearing will look like an admission of guilt to the voters. The Democratic Party needs to get Rangel out of Congress ASAP. Republicans will have a field day bashing Rangel in the next Congress.

I suspect Charlie will resign from the house about an hour before his next ethics hearing…which he should be able to stretch it out until next year some time.
He (Charlie) probably has a multi-million dollar deal he is working on….tax free of course!

“My job as CCO (Chief Community Organizer) is over. I have changed America….My Way!
“Accordingly, I shall not seek, and I will not accept, the nomination of my party for another term as your President.”

He is not the exception, he is just an example of what is taking place everyday. How about the representatives that caused the failure of our economy and are not even investigated.

Susan, I agree. One only needs to look at the play politics operates in Florida to understand that. The White House should be using a full court press to get Rangel to resign. Democrats don't need this headache. If Obama does nothing then I question if he cares about his party.
