But unfortunately one of our main tools in delineating the two broke. The country's 24-hour political pundit perpetual panic conficinator did not cause our problems but it's existence makes soling them that much harder. The press can hold it's magnifying up to our problems bringing them into focus, illuminatiing issues heretofore unseen or they can use that magnifying glass to light ants on fire and then perhaps host a week of shows on the sudden, unexpected dangerous flaming ant epidemic.

I think Jon Stewart is somewhat naive about the true nature of people. The fact is this country is extremely divided and I don't see that changing any time soon. Stewart's message of civility in public discourse is needed. We may not be able to reach for the stars. That doesn't mean we shouldn't try.
