Rick Scott: Birther

Gubernatorial candidate Rick Scott campaigned in the Villages. Scott was asked if he would check the authenticity of President Barack Obama's birth certificate.

“I’ll have to look into it.”

If we are to take Scott at his word, as CEO of Columbia/HCA he failed to properly audit illegal medical billing. Scott's health care company was forced to pay $631 million in fines. The Columbia/HCA board forced Scott to step down as CEO. Scott failed to investigate $1.7 billion of Medicare and Medicaid fraud under his watch but feels the need to investigate Obama's birth certificate. The only two conclusions I can draw is Scott is either willing to pander to the most extreme of the GOP base or he is a conspiracy theorist. Neither possibility speaks well of Scott's fitness to govern.
