Chuck Norris has the first of a three-part serious detailing President Barack Obama's hatred of the Boy Scouts.

Over the past months, a widely circulated e-mail has reported that President Obama is not signing Eagle Scout certificates, which only 4 to 5 percent of Boy Scouts attain. Categorically, Internet watchdog sites like Snopes.com and TruthOrFiction.com have classified the claims as "hogwash." But I have found a steady stream of White House whitewashing when it comes to the Boy Scouts of America.

Fact-checking sites found that the story of Obama refusing to sign Boy Scout certificates is an e-mail urban myth. Scopes.com even produced a photo of a Boy Scout certificate with Obama's signature. Chuck Norris writes for World Net Daily. No web site has tried harder to spread the birther myth than WND. Conspiracy stories are what drives WND's readership.

Norris ran this quote he found from the conservative web site Human Events.

"No Eagle recognition letters have been received this year from the president," said Richard Meyers, who attained his Eagle rank in 1957 during the Eisenhower presidency and is now assistant scoutmaster for troop 162 in Arlington County, Va. Meyers made this clarification at a Chain Bridge District 2010 Life-to-Eagle Seminar on Jan. 30, 2010.

The date of Meyers quote is important. Scopes.com fact-checked Norris's op-ed. Scopes.com found that the cut-off was the spring of 2010. World Net Daily re-edited the Norris op-ed to show the date of the Meyers quote. Norris has this bizarre theory that the President is anti-Boyscout. What Norris doesn't know or fails to mention is that Obama was a Boy Scout (or possibly Cub Scout) when he lived overseas. Nice to meet you..yes me and Barry Obama went to school together at Besuki elementary back in 1970 – 1971in Jakarta..he was a good hearted kid,i always play with him everyday during that time..we jointed the boy scout at the same junior A group..our uniform at that time was kakhi shirt and dark brown pants and on our neck we wore red and white small flag(indonesian flag colour)..we learned at that time how to use rope for building camp tent,climbing and others standard use…we also learned how to marching ect…we did camp at that time but its in our class school(in the evening) thats what we learned at the time before we really camp on the mountain side..but Barry Obama never get the chance to camp outside the city to the mountain..unfortunately,he went back to Hawaii in 1972…if you want to see our old school and picture of his former classmates,please check my Facebook..just search my name..thanks for your kind attention..cheers,Rully

Norris represents the many conservatives that will dismiss facts to paint a fantasy that fits their worldview. It is disservice when proper news analyze is needed. I also wonder if people like Norris are borderline mentally ill.
