Patrick Swayze is Not Dead
Note to Jim Johnson: Further proof Twitter is not news. Twitter users spreaded the rumor that celebrity Patrick Swayze is dead. Swayze publicist sent out a press release to debunk the rumor.
"This is to confirm that Patrick Swayze did not pass away this morning contrary to severely reckless reports stemming from a radio station in Jacksonville, Fla. Patrick Swayze is alive, well and is enjoying his life and he continues to respond to treatment."
Twitter users could have e-mailed Swayze's show The Beast to find out if the story was true. Instead they used morning shock jocks as a news source. Way to go Twitter.
What would any mention of Swayze be without Roadhouse. Kevin Smith talks about the bad movie classic.

Perfect example of the double edged sword of technology and the online world
To me, this is proof that Twitter is a news source!
We all know that "news" does not mean "right."
See (Weapons of Mass Destruction).
The media could have done a better fact-checking the WMD story. What administration was telling the media Iraq had WMDs?
