Michael Steele On Economic Policy
"And everyone in Washington, Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, are pointing fingers at Republicans as if this was your mistake. Yes, my bad. We made mistakes, but now you have an opportunity to move us in a new direction.
"And what is that direction? What I call a "collectivist mindset" that says you as an individual should be more interested in helping the collective, therefore, we want to decide how much your business should earn, we want to decide who's wealthy and who isn't wealthy, we want to decide who the CEO's and the people who run these businesses of this country should be."
Michael Steele, during an appearance on Greta Van Susteren's show.
President Barack Obama provides tax relief for small bussinesses and 95 percent of America.
Provide Tax Relief for Small Businesses and Start Up Companies: Barack Obama and Joe Biden will eliminate all capital gains taxes on start-up and small businesses to encourage innovation and job creation. Obama and Biden will also support small business owners by providing a $500 “Making Work Pay” tax credit to almost every worker in America. Self-employed small business owners pay both the employee and the employer side of the payroll tax, and this measure will reduce the burdens of this double taxation.
Steele loses all credibility on economic issues when he dismissively says the Republican Congress and Bush years: "Yes, my bad." Steele goes one more step out of touch by defending CEO's post-AIG bonuses. Please Mr. Steele, keep taking your CEO message to the masses.
