2 - 2 = 4 In Crist's World
I have written repeatly how property taxes are a horrible way to fund education. The Miami Herald reports Florida property tax revenue is down by $219 billion. Gov. Charlie Crist wanted a 2.7 percent increase for K-12 schools. Crist was planning on paying for the increase by raising fees for driver licenses, vehicle registrations and college exams. Crist can back education and maintains claims that he didn't raises taxes. Just fees.
To make education funding more difficult: Crist is calling for another property tax cut. Florida has been devastated by foreclosures. Property taxes need to come down. I'm amazed at how Crist thinks he can increase the K-12 education budget while cutting property taxes. You can't do addition by subtraction.
