:: Naked Brunch: The Bunny Hop is Passe ::

face yourselves..."regret for the truth of a thousand lies"

[Linkin Park, "What I've Done"]

... an unmitigated increase in world temperature would "be likely to exceed the capacity of natural, managed and human systems to adapt."

+ Perhaps we need a "walk on water" event to help us out with our global warming issues.  It's unfortunate that, (for those of you that believe in a mystical being) for Lent you didn't give up something that might inconvenience you a bit, that collectively, might have helped with global warming, pollution, the environment and begin a habit that would last a lifetime.  Inasmuch as the US is the highest user and consumer of resources in the world, we need to be the one taking the first significant steps to solve these issues.  That or, you could continue with your life in denial and believe your mystical being is going to take care of everything for you........even though you and others have managed to destroy the gifts given you in the Earth and its' ecosystems (at least the US and China believe so).  And, the Easter Bunny is real, too.

+ Ramble:  Life just isn't quite the same as it was in the 1950s.... when Janet Leigh and Tony Curtis were doing the "Bunny Hop."   Or, maybe it was and polite society just didn't talk about the realities of the world.  We certainly enjoy romanticizing the past, when in fact it may well of have much worse in other ways.  Consider that, about eight years prior to the release of this song, not only did we create nuclear weapons, but we tested them on black Americans and unsuspecting towns within the vicinity that received the nuclear fallout.  And, then, we actually used them.....dropping the nuclear bomb on Japan with hideous long-term devastation.  Now, we have a delusional government that went after a country that supposedly held WMD, weapons we originated, and started a war, where none should have occurred and that is sending those already wounded in this unholy chaos back into the fray.  And, we are trying to start another war because a different country would like to harness that horrible technology for the purported purpose of energy.  As we have learned, sometimes technology and industrialization isn't a good thing.  Neither is capitalism/consumerism - at least where we consume the same products over and over again because they are made to break just after their warranty period is up.  We also create useless products no one will ever need using energy to do so and further contributing to global warming.  Economy driven production for the sake of production is destroying the Earth.

But, actions such as this give me hope on occasion.

When religion and government merge, we may as well live in the time of  pre-enlightenment.

+ Liar Swift-Boater Ambassador to Belgium. Wow, I bet Belgium is unimpressed and insulted.

+ The only thing worth reading in George Will's column:

A man walking along the edge of a cliff slips and plummets toward jagged rocks and crashing surf, barely saving himself by clinging to the cliff's face. But the cliff is too steep to climb, so he shouts, "Is anyone up there?" A voice fills the sky -- God's voice -- saying: "Have faith and pray. If you have sufficient faith and pray well, you can let go and land gently, unhurt, amid the rocks and surf." The man ponders this promise, then shouts: "Is there anyone else up there?"

Damn straight.

+ With the amount of dogfood being recalled, I am making my own now. I got this recipe from A&M when one of my dogs went into renal failure and nearly died. This is the only thing she would eat. My other dog loved it as well. Contents: Cook rice in with some broth and mix in: cut up Velveeta cheese, vegetable oil, shredded wheat cereal, can green beans, garlic powder. I sometimes threw in a cut up package of beef/pork hot dogs or the meat off beef soup bones I had cooked down (cook rice in this broth). Your dogs will love you and its healthy. Give them a multi-vitamin. Or, I add liquid Glucoamine/Chondrin into the mix for their joints and bones.

+ Erotic Art: Can you say YES?!
