:: Naked Brunch: Last Daze ::

I am here and not at the last day of SXSW.... but, you can get some of the SXSW performers' music here. Lucky you. The Austinist, as always, has helpful info on SXSW.

For those of you who aren't aware, I now post at P! when I have a spare moment. ddjango and michael sky do one hell of a job. As a sampling, check out the latest: The Dominism Virus, Observation Post 031507, Soldier Down: Killing Them ::Softly:: With Their Song, History 101: So You Think Bush Was the First, and coming soon, an interview with Dan of FCNL.

Brunch: Asiago, green onion, and fresh basil omelet, sliced nectarine drizzled with honey, and Fair Trade organic bean coffee. Deeeeeeeeeee-li-cious!

Someone! Anyone! Explain to me WHAT is "exactly" our "OBJECTIVE" in Iraq? What? Bush is trying to tell us now that if we withdraw the troops from Iraq, that they will follow us here. Bullshit. These people are fighting and killing each other. They need to be seperated. It is the only solution left at this point in time. Thousands of years say these religious factions do not get along. Gates is on "Face the Nation" right now and he is obviously a mouthpiece for the administration, as usual. FTN just congratulated him for his firing of generals at Walter Reed. Give me strength. Go after Congress and this administration for their lack of foresight and planning for all the injuries and deaths resulting from this war as well as the lack of provisions for our veterans.

Environment: Germany's environment minister, Sigmar Gabriel, says the United States has blocked progress on two key issues to protect the global environment. As usual, this administration can't swallow real solutions.

Rip at Zen Cabin inquires what music is doing it for you lately and provides us with his Sunday Jazz Brunch. Yummilicious. Hopefully, Rip will have plenty of fabulous relaxing and sensuous tunes tonite with The Decompression Chamber at 9PM Central to Midnight.

HUSH, HUSH!: "I find it absolutely mind boggling that adults like Westmoreland and Toensing can be so out of touch with reality and still allowed to walk around without a straight jacket keeping them under control."

S........... of.........a............B..............I still want a cigarette. Not as often, but.......right now, I'd commit an illegal public act to have one.

Doomsday: Bush Literary Lunch Foretells Horrors Ahead

Stop what you're doing and go read – right now – Glenn Greenwald's account of the recent "literary luncheon" that George Bush held with a gaggle of extremist neocon "scholars" in the White Ho use. Read of the poison flattery they lovingly smeared all over Bush's ego, of the brutal and ignorant prejudices they confirmed him in, of the unbridled military aggression they advocated. Read how they fed Bush's megalomaniac belief in his "divine mission," like Byzantine courtiers or al Qaeda groupies assuring the Leader that he walks in God's favor and is answerable to no one and nothing but the Almighty.

Read too of how Bush eagerly lapped up their "lessons," nodding in solemn agreement with their fawning assessment of his greatness – even adding to it, saying that he was greater than Winston Churchill because the British leader was a secularist, an agnostic, and lacked the rigid blinders of crude, unquestioned faith that gives Bush such an unwavering certitude in the rightness – and righteousness – of his actions.

BJ's: "Their hackery has undermined the integrity of every US Attorney and will now throw every prosecutorial decision into question. Well done, guys." Ditto. But, what else can you expect?

Blog Meridian's two-part series on Barack Obama post-race politics: Part I and Part II

It truly is Vietnam all over again. Misunderstanding the intent of war protesters and blaming the anti-war movement for those stupid enough to deface memorials - well, nothing has changed. Here's to hoping we don't have another Ohio State. Then there is an administration that doesn't nor has ever supported the human beings who do their filthy dirty will.

Explaining why the Iraq war/surge is bad is like....explain[ing] why sticking a gun in your mouth and pulling the trigger is a bad idea, or explain[ing] why feeding anti-freeze to your pets is not a wise course of action.. The issues are that clear to me.

Absolutely beautiful.

By the way: al Qaeda in Iraq 'poses little danger' to US
