Shifting Republican Attack Talking Points

SEAN HANNITY: But as I listen to even the lead up to the President's speech tonight, how many Democrats, they're now threatening to do everything they can do legislatively, to cut off funding for the new troops?

RUDY GIULIANI: I'm a little, I'm really confused about it, because I think it was only a month ago that many of these Democrats were talking about increasing the number of troops in Iraq.

HANNITY: By the way, I have a list --

GIULIANI: Putting more boots on the ground --

HANNITY: Biden, Kerry, Pelosi, Reid all said the same thing.

GIULIANI: You sort of get the feeling, you get the feeling, that if he hadn't put in more troops, instead of attacking him this way, they would say, "we should've put more troops in." Or at least some of them would have. They have said that before.

Oh really. That's why last summer the Democrats had two proposals to pull troops out of Iraq. 38 Democrats and Republican Lincoln Chafee voted to pull troops. The only Democrats to side with Republicans were Mark Dayton, Mary Landrieu, Mark Pryor, Bill "Thank God for Katherine Harris" Nelson, Ben Nelson and (surprise) Joe Lieberman.

This all is interesting. I remember when Republicans were calling Democrats cut and runners. Now they are saying that within the past few months Democrats were screaming for more boots on the ground. That was true in 2004. Not 2006.

Mr. G, you got served.

Hey, don't knock K-Fed. Someone has to be the running tabloid joke now that Ben Affleck settled down.
